Supertest Radiator Covers
Radiator covers were a popular accessory in the early
days of the automobile.
They were installed ahead of the radiator to block
the wind and help the engine
warm quicker for better performance and heater
output. I wish I could claim
I owned these , but the truth is they are in the collection
of a good friend.
They are quite possibly my favourite Supertest
item . The photo shows both
sides of the covers . Judging by the shape , I think
they are from the late
twenties or very early thirties , when new cars had
a flat radiator and grill.
Its interesting to note that they were reversible
, possibly to compliment the
colour of your vehicle. I'm only guessing but
I imagine that they were a
give-away, but the advertising benefits would certainly
make it all worth it.
Talk about getting your name out in front of the public
!
