About the AuthorSome people think it takes "delusions of adequacy" to put one's own beliefs forward as a viable new religious path. Others tend to think it smacks of "mystic bullshit", and a desire to live in a fantasy world. I've met people who took each of those paths, and I don't blame people for wondering about me. I'm just a well-read pagan with a lot of time on her hands for medical reasons, and a good mind to think with. I consider myself to have been given both for a reason, and so I have done my best to turn them to good use. I'm environmentally sensitive, and this has served to increase my awareness of the connections that exist between all forms of life on earth. The net result is a very strong nature-derived belief system, a Taoist philosophical outlook, a good education in herbal, natural, and alternative medicine. I cannot understand the degree of prejudice people bring to these issues, when reality is plain to see. I found over time that people occasionally appreciated the insights I've been able to offer thanks to this perspective, and so I like to share them when I am inspired to the point of writing on a subject. At this time I am turning my efforts in several directions, all facets of the same goal. I am working on writing out my religious beliefs, so that I can share them with others who may or may not share them, but may perhaps at least find insight here and there. At this same time, my husband and I are in the process of slowly moving our family to an unpolluted country residence, from which we hope to find others who share our views on living in harmony with the earth, poisoning neither her nor ourselves, with a goal toward forming an intential ecocommunity. For more about me, my life, and how things are going on these efforts, follow this link: Window on Willow's WorldMy overarcing goal, if you will, is taken from "Two Tramps in Mud Time", by Robert Frost: "But yield who will to their separation, I believe in living your dreams, your goals, and your beliefs in all aspects of life. I am glad my writing reached you, and hope you may enjoy it enough to share it with others. I will be adding further writing of this nature and related religious subjects to my web page as time allows - please note the corrected web address at the end of this message. I previously ran a pagan BBS under another handle; it was Nagel's Gallery BBS, on WWIVNet, ICENet, and InfiNet. I've been trying to find the former "Witch's Cottage BBS" from ICENet, run by "Lachesis" - if you've ever run across any of these names, I would welcome leads to resume contact with her. Thank you for the honor of your time and open mind to my words. Willow Firesong ICQ# 8790312 Monday, November 02, 1998 Updated Sunday, 28 March, 1999 |
