Dubai is a modern city that has been in the highlight lately in many fields. It's one of the trade centres of the Middle East and is hence highly commercialised. This adds to its already existant rich oil revenues and makes the city mega rich! It's a clean city where law and order is handled effectively to make it very safe to live in. The traffic is well controlled and you find dazzling cars all around. In fact, if you dont wear your seat belt the cops take away dhs.100 from you. It is a very cosmopolitain city where people from all parts of the world thrive together. Most of the foreign nationals are indians, paki's & philipinoes. Hence, indians don't feel away from home here.

The climate there is very pleasent from december till the earlier part of the year. But when it gets hot in the middle of the month, the temperatures reach crazy heights touching 45° very often.

The city is usually very active with shopping festivals taking place for a month long when many participate and sell their goods with attractive discount rates. You get almost every known brand here. A wide range of electronics are also found at cheap rates here. During our festivals, there are usually programmes held by the indian embassy. During navratri, everybody goes wild. The dandia programmes start after mid-night and almost everybody is in some or the other ground playing dandia.

As far as education goes, dubai is pretty good. You have prestigious schools such as 'Our Own English High School', Indian High School,Modern High School,etc. But there are not too many colleges. The main one's are American University of Dubai & Sharjah and Sharjah College.

Basically, if you are looking forward to a luxurious vacation, Dubai is the place!
