Major Charactres: Sinbad, Firouz, Doubar, Rongar, Bryn, Cayman, Natives, Zantax
Minor Charactres: Maeve, Dermott, Hakeem, Bernardi, Jakar, Sea Monster, Dim-Dim
(The Nomad is in a ferocious storm)
Sinbad: (at the tiller) Keep those lines secure!
(All of the hands are rushing around on deck)
Sinbad: Doubar! (Doubar goes to Sinbad) Take the tiller! I’m going up!
(Sinbad leaves the tiller with Doubar)
Sinbad: Maeve! Get those lines!
(Maeve goes running, and pulls on the lines Sinbad is talking about)
Maeve: (she can hardly keep her balance) Sinbad! (she screams as she is pushed overboard)
Sinbad: MAEVE!!!!!! Maeve!
(Sinbad goes to the side of the ship)
Doubar: Sinbad! No!
(Sinbad looks back at Doubar, then dives off the side of the Nomad)
Doubar: Sinbad!
Sinbad: (searching in the water) Maeve!
(Dermott flies off)
(Sinbad disappears under the water)
Shouts: Sinbad!
(Sinbad is lying on the beach; it is a sunny day; someone walks up to him)
Bryn: Are you all right?
(Sinbad opens his eyes and slowly looks up; he sees Maeve, and the very first time he met her)
Sinbad: Maeve?
Bryn: The name’s Bryn. And we better get going.
(Sinbad looks past her, and sees the Cayman monster after them; he gets up, and they go running in the opposite direction)
Sinbad: Come on!
(They keep running)
Sinbad: Go! Go!
(They keep running, until the get to a cave, where they hide inside)
Sinbad: What’s his problem?
Bryn: Me…I guess. (runs past Sinbad)
(She stays at the entrance of the cave, and tries to get the monster to go, by thrusting him with her sword)
Sinbad: What, you don’t know?
(She is still trying to ward off Cayman)
Sinbad: If you weren’t his problem before, then you sure are now.
(Opening Credits)
(They are still trying to get Cayman to leave)
Sinbad: Give me your rope!
(She does that, and Sinbad ties the rope to his sword)
Sinbad: Now stand back. (he swings the sword around) One…two…three! (he throws his sword upwards, to a hole in the roof of the cave)
Sinbad: Can you climb?
(She goes to the rope, and climbs up it; Sinbad watches her, then follows)
Bryn: (after they are both safe, on top of the rocks) That was close.
Sinbad: (he is sitting REALLY close to Bryn) This is closer.
(Suddenly, a flying spear almost hits Bryn; they look, and see some natives approaching them)
Sinbad: (after starting to run) What’s his problem?
Bryn: Me…I guess.
Sinbad: Well, you’re certainly popular.
(They fight them)
Sinbad: How many of these are out there?
Bryn: A city’s worth!
(They continue fighting)
Sinbad: Come on, let’s go! Where did you learn that? May I suggest an evasive maneuver?
Bryn: Right behind you!
(They continue fighting; one of the natives comes up behind Sinbad, and poises to spear him)
Bryn: Nooooooooo! (she looks at the native, and blows him up with magic)
Sinbad: How did you do that?
Bryn: I’m not sure.
Sinbad: Well, it works for me. Let’s go!
(They take off running; the Cayman appears, and runs after them)
Sinbad: I think this guy has a crush on you.
(They come to a cliff)
Sinbad: Can you swim?
Bryn: I’m about to find out.
Sinbad: I was looking for a more definite answer.
(They put their swords in their sheaths; they jump off the cliff into the river below; they swim ashore and sit beside each other)
Sinbad: The name’s Sinbad.
Bryn: Did the storm get you? And marooned you here?
Sinbad: Yeah. And a good friend. I have to find her.
(Bryn uses her left arm to get some water off her face; Sinbad sees a rainbow bracelet)
Sinbad: Wait. That bracelet.
Bryn: What about it?
Sinbad: Do you remember where you got it? (she shakes her head) Me neither. (he shows her his bracelet) But, let me guess. There was a storm. You thought there was no hope. But then, you awoke in a strange place. You were safe. (he got up) You had the bracelet on.
Bryn: (gets up) There was a storm…I think. I awoke here. But I can’t remember anything…except my name. I don’t know who I am or where I came from.
Sinbad: Well, you’re here. Maeve’s gone. Dim-Dim always told me that everything has its purpose. I pray that he was right.
(They begin to walk)
(It is the village where the natives live; two natives go into a building, where the leader, Zantax, is)
Zantax: Approach! (they approach) The girl. Where is she?
Native: We were unable to capture the girl, Zantax. A stranger appeared, as if by magic, and rescued her.
Zantax: Perhaps you would like to tell Cayman that his sacrifice is missing.
Native: He already knows it.
Zantax: What?
Native: He, too, spotted the girl. He seemed entranced by her. He acted like he had never seen her before. But when the stranger intervened—
Zantax: Ssh. Do you realize what this means? Ever since this city was built, Cayman’s never attacked us, as long as we give him a young person, he leaves the village alone. He stays on his side of the island! Hasn’t Cayman always stopped all our enemies?
Native: Yes, Zantax—
Zantax: Aren’t we feared from sea to sea?
Native: We are. But at a terrible price.
Zantax: We do what we must, in order to survive. Never question our ways again. If Cayman thinks we’re hiding this girl, he may avenge his anger on us all, is that what you want? There is only one solution. Track and recapture the girl at once.
Native: And the stranger?
Zantax: His head would look good resting on one of our altars.
(Sinbad and Bryn are walking together)
Bryn: After I found myself on this island, the warriors captured me and tied me to their altar.
Sinbad: But you escaped.
Bryn: Yeah.
Sinbad: And you have powers.
Bryn: Sometimes.
Sinbad: But the way you tossed that warrior, just by looking at him.
Bryn: I didn’t mean to do that. I did, but not exactly. It’s this gift I have. It comes and goes. I don’t understand it.
(They see some birds fly off some trees)
Bryn: Sinbad. Something’s moving.
Sinbad: Stay here. Keep out of sight.
Bryn: I can take care of myself.
Sinbad: I know. But if that creature returns, or those warriors, I’ll need you to watch my back.
(Bryn does as Sinbad tells her, and Sinbad runs through the woods)
(Sinbad comes to some bushes, and jumps through them, landing on someone)
Doubar: (looking at who knocked him over) Sinbad!
Sinbad: Doubar!
(They laugh, and hug; Doubar almost crushes Sinbad)
Doubar: I thought I’d never see you again.
Firouz: We now believe in miracles.
Sinbad: That makes two of us. (Rongar makes signs) Now, I thought I was a gonner, too, Rongar. Any sign of Maeve?
Doubar: Not a trace. It’s as if she vanished into thin air.
Firouz: Dermott’s gone too.
Sinbad: Well, we’ll just have to keep looking. She can’t be gone. (he starts walking) She just can’t be.
Doubar: Sinbad. We also found some tracks.
Sinbad: Well, I saw what made them. It’s not pretty. Oh, and I met his would-be lunch. Her name’s Bryn. She’s waiting for us.
Doubar: He’s been on this god-forsaken island, and he finds a damsel in distress.
(They walk to the spot Sinbad left Bryn)
Sinbad: Bryn! (he bends down, and touches the ground) Blood. The islanders. We’ve gotta get her back!
(They take off running)
