Imbolc takes place on February 2 for those in the Northern Hemisphere and on August 1 for those in the Southern Hemisphere.
This is the Sabbat that symbolizes the stirrings of new life right before the explosion of life in the Spring. It is the renewing of life energies. It is a perfect time to re-energize yourself and work with your own personal creativity. Search within for that creative life spark. You may be amazed at what you find or may find new inspiration for current creative endeavors. Let yourself feel the beating life within the Earth that waits to burst out and draw from its energy. It is very traditional to light many candles for Imbolc to symbolize the Sun God's rebirth. Quite often people light a candle in every room of the house for such an occassion.
Your assignment is to research Imbolc and find some interesting facts about it. Write your personal feelings about it as well. Also, you are to celebrate this Wiccan holiday in some manner.
