Lesson #2f: The Wiccan Sabbat, Mabon

Mabon is the celebration of the Fall Equinox which celebrated around September 20 in the Northern Hemisphere and March 21 in the Southern Hemisphere. It is the time of the year when the Earth is preparing for Winter's sleep. It is a time to reflect on the things you have done in the past and ask the Goddess to give you wisdom to plant seeds of love and understanding in the coming year. It is traditional to gather seeds to use in future planting and for future magickal purposes. It is a time to enjoy the fall time and realize that without the coldness of winter, there can be no rebirth of spring.

Your assignment is to research the Sabbat Mabon and tell us what you have learned about the traditions and history. Also, tell us some of the ways that you celebrate Mabon. I would like to hear how your rituals for Mabon went as well.

Enjoy and I hope you will learn some new things that you didn't know before. If you have any questions, let me know.

Brightest Blessings,

Arianna

You will find the sample ritual on My Personal Wicca Site. Study my ritual but I also want you to study many other sources. You should never take one point of view to follow. Find what's right for you. Enjoy your assignments.
