The next day, at school, well, homeschool, everyone took their usual
seats. Zac next to Kristin, in front of Taylor next to Beth, who were
in front of Isaac next to Kate. Shortest to tallest. "Diana, can I
switch seats with Kate of Kristin?" asked Beth. "Sure, but why?" Diana
asked. "I don't want to sit by Taylor anymore. He bothers me." replied
Beth. "Kate, please switch spots with Beth." "Gosh," said Taylor as he
put his head in his hands on top of his desk. "Taylor, what wrong with
you and Beth lately?" asked Diana while everyone was doing their
assignment. "I don't know. She's just mad at me and I don't know what
to do about it." said Taylor. "Well, do you want me to talk to her?"
offered Diana. "No, I'll take care of it." responded Taylor. "Well,
don't confront her, just leave her alone for a while." suggested
Diana. "Hey, that's what Zac said." said Taylor. "You were asking your
little brother?" asked a shocked Diana. "Hey, I'm YOUNGER, not
little!" exclaimed Zac. Then Diana went to the front of the room,
"Girls, what books did your teachers give you?" she asked. "They gave
us communications," Beth was saying as she was interupted. "Huh?
Communications?" asked a confused Zac. "English." Kate responded.
"English?" "Literature." Kristin suggested. "Oh! Why didn't you say
so!" exclaimed Zac. "They gave us a world geography book, a science
book, and a first year algebra book." continued Beth. "What's world
geography?" asked Zac, wondering why everything was called something
else in Minnesota. "Maps and stuff, ya know, social studies." Kristin
answered. "Oh! You mean history!" said Zac. "Nope, history was last
year." added Kate. "Wait a minute, Taylor's in algerbra one and he's
in 9th grade. You guys are only in 8th." said Isaac. "Yeah, but we're
in 9th grade math." said Beth.
