What do you think Howie bring to the Backstreet Boys?

AJ: Well, aside from his vocals & his amzing talent for acting & dancing, I think he brings a bit of tranquility to the band. There's also his sweetness of course. He has a very positive outlook on everything - that's why we all call him Sweet D!

Nick: Most of the time he's very serious, but at times he gets more lighthearted. I think we all consider him to be the peacemaker of the group. He's also very smart - he's the clever one!

Kevin: He's got a big heart, he's very sensitive. That's not to say that the rest of us aren't though! It's really good to have someone like that in the band.

What does Howie worry about most?

AJ: I think he worries about how people perceive him, and he's very sensitive about his looks. Howie never wants to seem rude, he doesn't really want to seem anything ..... he's just very cautious.

Where would you take Howie for a birthday surprise?

AJ: I'd take him to Puerto Rico - he loves it. It's where most his family are from.

Can Howie keep a secret?

AJ: Absolutely. I know for sure he'd keep everything I told him to himself.

What's his most annoying habit?

Kevin: Before he makes a decision, he really weighs things up, and sometimes he takes a little long doing it!

Is Howie good with the fans ?

Kevin: He's great, he loves chatting to them. I think he's frustrated that he's so busy he can't do it anymore.

Brian: Howie's probably the best of all of us - he & Kevin have a lot of patience with them. Howie always tries to please everybody, even when he can't!

How can you tell if he's in a mood?

Kevin: When he doesn't say much, when he chills. He doesn't really get into bad moods, he just goes quiet.

Can you remember the first time you met Howie?

Brian: Yeah, it was at a place called the Band House which is a huge warehouse where we used to rehearse. Kevin picked me up at the airport on April 20 1993 & he took me to the Band House where I was introduced to Howie.

What do girls like about Howie?

Brian: The fact that he's very warm, generous & open - he always gets straight to the point & he's very positive. Well, he's Sweet D, isn't he!

Who would you set Howie up on a blind date?

Brian: Cindy Crawford or Louise, if I could hook it up!

If Howie wasn't a BSB, what would he be doing?

Nick: He'd be trying to act. He's always been involved in acting & singing, so he might still be in college studying music or theatre or something.
