Q: What do you do when you see your dreamgirl? What do you do to impress this girl?

BRIAN: I thinks it's not good to impress a girl! I'm not a braggart. For me, it's very embarrassing to say "I'm a Backstreet Boy..." you know. I want that girl tp fall in love with me and not with a star! But I like to make a girl laugh.

KEVIN: I can not and will not be for anybody the clown or the solo entertainer. I'm a shy guy, and often its very difficult for me to make the first move. Friends told me I sometimes look unapproachable and cool, but I guess it is because I can not show my real feelings, you know.

AJ: When I like a girl I would first invite her. Maybe to a dinner or when I meet the girl in a disco to a drink. I know I'm a gasbag and I would tell her any anecdotes about her. How can a girl like me when I don't tell her how great I'm? I would tell her suspenseful and funny stories.

NICK: (roll eyes) We know your stories!

AJ: Whatever! I only tell you fairy stories. You know me and I think it's great when you believe me (laughing). I would never tell fairy stories to a girl. Sometimes she findes out what you have told her and gets annoyed, I understand it. Noo, I would screw up. Be honest the best story writes the life and in our life is a lot of stuff to tell, you know.

NICK: My problem is, before I was a Backstreet Boy, I was too young to date. I had girls as friends but no more than that, you know. And now, all these girls see the star in me and I don't know how I can meet a girl normally. With it, I love girls. They have such a wonderfull way to see things. Boys are very showy and machos, I don't like that.

HOWIE: Honestly, I think it's a dream to spoil a girl! A really beautiful and classic candlite-dinner and a walk on the beach. For me, that's really romantic. I like to drive the car in the night, it sounds funny, you are alone with your girl listening to good music and looking the stars....it's GREAT!

Q: Did you ever give away flowers, to show a girl that you love her?

BRIAN: Yea, sure! I fell in love with a girl in my school and I didn't know how I could tell her, she was in another class and so unapproachable. I put red roses in her locker secretly. When she found the flowers, she was totally surprised and didn't know what to say.

NICK: No, I guess I'm not the type to give flowers. And I must admit, I'm terrible forgetful and once I have forgotten a birthday.

KEVIN: With flowers, can you show what you can't say with words. When I invite a girl and give her flowers when I first pick her up, it means she is something special to me.

AJ: No, I don't know why people think flowers are very important. For me, they're not. When I surprise a girl, I'd sing a song. I like it and it does concern people. Once I made a girl cry.

HOWIE: I love to give things! I like it to surprise people I love. I don't give presents, though, only for birthdays. I also give things when I see anything my friends like. On tours I buy a lot of souvenoirs for my friends at home. And sometimes I buy something for a special girl and she is very happy that I think of her when I'm on tour and so far away, you know.

Q: Cross my Heart! Would you fight for a girl?

KEVIN: I fought a long time for my ex girlfriend, Christine. I lived in Orlando and she was a dancer in NY. I didn't want our relationship to break up. So I flew over there. But then I felt she is too far away, it isn't a good relationship...

NICK: Well, I guess the girl sould help me a little bit. I don't like it when you get a girl without a little bit of fighting, but both must fight for a relationship, not only one.

HOWIE: Yeah sure! When I like a girl I have to do something for her.

AJ: Of course, I would fight for a girl, but once the butterflies disappear, you know, I guess I give up and break off contact with her.

BRIAN: As my last relationship was over, I didn't have enough power to fight.

Q: What makes you cry?

KEVIN: My dad died a few years ago and I cried every night and day. I was only 17 and saw his terrible death with my own eyes. It was a very, very painful experience for me. Even a few months later, when someone speaks of him, I cry.

NCK: I didn't have such painfull experience in my life. But I cry about poverty, famine, war, people who don't have a house or enough to eat. I also cry when I see a sentimental movie.

BRIAN: As we got our first golden record in Germany I had tears in my eyes. I couldn't believe it, a dream came true.

HOWIE: Luck can me make cry. On stage sometimes I feel like crying. You did your best perfomace and the fans want more - that's a feeling that makes me wanna cry.

AJ: I'm not a guy who crys often. When I feel sad I go to some place and be alone.

Q: What don't you about girls?

NICK: I think girls who don't have their own opinion are boring. A girl for me needs to be a little challenging.

HOWIE: But too much challenge isn't good. Once we took some girls on stage ( I'll never break your heart ) and I sang my part suddenly the girl grabbed my pants...you know. That's too much of a good thing, I think!

KEVIN: I don't like it when girls wear very tight shirts and short minis. That looks vulgar. But of course it's sexy if a girl emphasize her body but not too much.

AJ: Its sinewy when girls think that they're all that. I think a girl needs to be sensitive.

BRIAN: She shoulden't be stubborn. For me, it's really stupid when girls know they're wrong but say they're right.

Q: What's the best thing to do outside?

BRIAN: Play Basketball, of course.

KEVIN: Long rides are wonderfull. When I lived in Lexington, we had horses, I think riding is absolutely great.

NICK: I love to go boating. You feel the wind in your hair and you're surrounded by blue water. It's a great feeling!

HOWIE: Too much sport for me. I prefer to walk with a girl hand in hand through the landscape. Its a great feeling also to feel the sun in your face and when you get tired you lay in the grass and sleep. Great, huh?

AJ: (laughing) I prefer the beach. Relax on the beach with friend.

Q: What does spring mean to you?

BRIAN: The hemlines are going up and the material gets fine. (laughing) No, I'm not so bad. Spring it the wake up of the nature for me.

KEVIN: In Kentucky, where I was born, is the winter was very harsh. I loved it when the nature gets green again after the long white months. The birds come back. Anytime you go outside, take a breath and you are sure it smells like spring!
