It can be anything from wearing fur, to prayer in school! (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99) Fire Prevention - Work with your local Fire Department in establishing a Fire Prevention program that can be given to school students. Also create a Fre Prevention Program for adults. Also in this program include what to do if there is a fire. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99) Theme Months - For every meeting of that month have a small part of the program dedicated to that one issue which your chapter finds especially important. Examples are Breast Cancer Awareness Month or AIDS Awareness Month. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99) Letter Writing - Start letter writing capaigns and petitions to local government officials regarding issues pertinent to Jewish youth, as well as the general Jewish population. (Cori Daniels-Kleiner 1/15/99) Government Meetings - Set up a meeting with your Congressman or some other government official to discuss national and local issues that are of concern to Jewish teenagers. Drug Awareness Night - Create a Drug Awareness Program to educate Chapter members and the community. Consider inviting a speaker. Hold a Walk for a Good Cause - Raise money by getting pledges per Kilometer or mile, or flat donations. Open this walk up to the entire community. Or participate in a walk that is already sponsored by another group (Race For A Cure, March of Dimes, etc.) Current Events Discussion - Have members of your Chapter gather information about a current issue that interests them. After the members have gathered information, have them present it to the entire Chapter. Follow their update with a discussion on what can be done. Physically Challenged Course - Give each member of your Chapter a different handicap for the entire night. Some might be blindfolded to symbolize being blind, others might have their thumbs taped up to be crippled, others might wear ear plugs to represent being deaf, etc. Have a regular Chapter program that they will have to participate in. Letters to the Editors - Write letters to the editors addressing current issues that you think are being neglected. Domestic Violence Program - Discuss what domestic violence is and how it affects boys while they are living in that environment and when they grow up.
