Yom Hashoah - Holocaust Rememberance Day. Visit a local Holocaust Museum. Have your own memorial service. BE sure to invite the community, both people younger and older! Invite a holocaust survivor or ask a March of the Living participant to share their experience. Host a Holocaust Education Night. Watch Schindler's List together. Yom Ha'atzmout - Independence Day. Have an Israeli Night Out. Set up fallafel booths, a disco, and stations to learn about Israel! Dedicate a night to Israeli Dancing. Learn Israel's history. 5 Senses - A five senses program: Smell - Havdallah, Hear - graphic holocaust stories, Sight - strange movies, Taste - Jewish foods or snacks, Touch - Judica type items. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99)

Cook Book - Begin preparing for a Kosher Recipe Book for the Region. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99)

Memory Boxes - Make memory boxes with the members of your chapter adding some of the things that help to symbolize your Judaism. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99)

Jewelry - Make jewelry in memory of the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. Write phrases such as "We must never forget" or "Remember the 6 million". (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99)

Poetry - Write Jewish poems or recite poems by Israeli poets. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99)

The Ten Commandments - How To - Help Chapter members clarify their values as individuals, Jews and members of society. Use a paraphrased version of the Ten Commandments to examine what values we consider the most important. (2/22/99)

Shabbat Services - This a great judaic program for not only the chapter, but the region. Meanwhile the chapter runs the service and makes sure everything is prepared, the region gets to interact with their beneficial judaic needs ... (Lawrence Nadel - Haganah AZA - 2/19/99)

Challah Bake-Off - How To - Go to a Sunday school class at your local synagogue and bake challah with the kids. (Ami Kantor - Advisor to Empire BBYO - 1/16/99)

Visit a Matzah Factory - Visit a local factory where Matzah is made. Do this around Passover time, perhaps in conjunction with the mock seder. (Cori Daniels-Kleiner - Advisor to Rainbow BBG - 1/15/99)

Holiday Services - Help out at a Holiday Service. Sponsor the refreshments or help with the service itself.

Purim Costume Pageant - Sponsor a Costume Pageant prior to the Purim Service at your local synagogue. Advertise prior to the holiday. Have prizes for the best adult costume and the best child's costume.

The Different Branches of Judaism - Sponsor a discussion of the many branches of Judaism. Invite Rabbis from all the Branches to debate the issues that differ from branch to branch and answer any questions participants have.

Visit A Kosher Butchery - Take a trip to the Kosher Butchery. Learn about what it takes to make meat Kosher, what is Kosher and what is not, and why Jews keep Kosher.

Tallis Making - Learn the significance of a tallis and how to wear one. As a Chapter, make tallit to bring to Regional, Council, and International events.

Jewish Cooking - Get a Grandmother or Grandfather of one of the members to teach the Chapter how to make Jewish foods that their parents taught them how to make. Make dishes like geflite fish, kreplach, matzoh ball chicken soup, etc. After you learn how to make these foods, eat them.

Help out at Hebrew School - Spend some time with young Hebrew School students, encourage them to learn about Judaism and explain why you think learning about your religion is important.

Life Cycle Study - Sponsor a life cycle program for the Region, Council, or local Hebrew School. Start the program with a mock bris where your members act out the parts. Follow this with a mock Bar Mitzvah, a wedding, and a funeral.

Jewish Trivia Contest - Collect different pieces of trivia for a Chapter contest. Include Jewish Holidays and Services, Israel, and customs and traditions.

BBYO Cheres Foffest - Create a local campaign to sell trees to be planted In the BBYO Forrest. Certificates are available through your Regional Office or the International Office.

Holocaust Remembrance Programs - Educate the Members of your Chapter about what happened during the Holocaust . Invite Holocaust Survivors or Camp Liberators to speak. Watch documentaries or non-fictional movies about the Holocaust.

Israeli Dancing or Singing - Sponsor courses on Israeli dances and songs.

Hanukkah Party - Hold a Hanukkah party. Play dreldels and have a gift exchange.

Yiddish or Hebrew Lessons - Sponsor a program or class on Yiddish expressions or conversational Hebrew sentences.

Yamakah Making - Purchase leather Yamakahs and decorate them with fabric paint.

Chocolate Passover Seder - Sponsor a Chocolate Seder prior to the start of Passover. Have every food be chocolate. Include chocolate-covered matzoh, chocolate milk (instead of wine), chocolate eggs, etc.
