Plant Trees - Plant trees in Israel with the remaining money that your chapter made this past year. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99)

Plan an ongoing Community Service project that you would like to work towards in the coming year. Consider getting involved with the Ronald McDonald House, AIDS organization, children's shelter, synagogue, etc. (BBG International Ideas Page - 3/30/99)

"Green Up-Clean Up" - Adopt a park and help to paint benches and pick up trash. Wear old clothes! The messier you get, the more fun you'll have! (Cori Daniels-Kleiner 1/15/99)

Community Garden Project - Organize a Community Garden and have the Chapter supply the soil. Invite the elderly or young school children to help plant seeds or flowers.

Sex Education Course - Get a professional educator to speak about sex to the Chapter members. Invite community youth to attend this course.

Highway Cleanup - Pick a section of highway and as a Chapter clean up all the trash. Set aside one weekend a month to clean up.

Drives - Hold a community-wide drive for canned food, toys, blankets, clothing, winter coats, glasses, etc. Donate these items to individuals of community groups that are collecting these items on a large scale.

Shovel Snow - Shovel snow for elders in your community.

Volunteer - Volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen. Any time is a good time to volunteer but especially consider going during Christmas time. Volunteer to referee at wheelchair basketball leagues, tutor at the local hebrew school, your local Children's Special Olympics, Children's hospital, or orphanage.

Big Brother/Sister Programs - Set up times for members and underprivileged kids to meet and spend some time together.

Temple and JCC Cleanups - Help the Temple or JCC Members weed, paint, clean up trash, or do whatever else is needed to Improve the conditions of the facilities.

Read to the Blind - Spend some time reading to sight-impaired Individuals or making recordings of books to which they could listen.

Blood Drives - Sponsor a blood drive for the community. Help with registration and the promotion for a blood drive.

Bag Lunches - Make bag lunches of peanut butter and jelly, a piece of fruit, a soda or juice box, and cookies. Hand these lunches out to homeless people.

Visit Children In the Hospital Wards - Dress up as clowns and pass out candy and balloons to patients at a childron's hospital or in a children's hospital ward. Create coloring books prior to going and give them to the children with crayons.

Habitat for Humanities - Volunteer for Habitat for Humanities, a national organization that helps to build suitable homes for low-income families.

Distribute Care Packages - Make Shabbat packages for the elderly of your community. Include a meal, challah, candies, and wine (or juice).

Fire Prevention - Work with your local Fire Department in establishing a Fire Prevention program that can be given to school students. Also create a Fire Prevention Program for adults. Also in this program include what to do if there is a fire.

Puppet Shows - Create a Torah Theater Puppet Show or Holiday Puppet Show for Jewish Homes for the Elderly or for Hebrew School Classes.
