Dr. Kottemann atended college and Dental School at the University of Iowa. He graduated 2nd in his Dental School class in 1976. Dr. Kottemann completed his residency in Orthodontics at the University of Minnesota where he placed first in his class. He was also awarded a Master of Science Degree at that time.

Dr. Kottemann is the ONLY Orthodontist to be certified as a Diplomate to the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. He has over 19 years of clinical experience in the practice of Orthodontics.

Dr. Kottemann and his wife Jean reside in Orono with their two sons, Kraig and Scott.
