This section is devoted to some cool stuff that I like:

  • MOVIES: If you like SUSPENSE; movies that keep you on the edge of your seat, then we have the same taste. Some CLASSICS that come to mind are RICOCHET with Denzel Washington and John Lithgow, HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE, SINGLE WHITE FEMALE, etc.
An All Time Favorite is FALLING DOWN with Michael Douglas. It's about a guy who basically gets "fed up"; He leaves his car in a traffic jam on the freeway, and spends the rest of the movie walking home through Los Angeles. Although it's not comedy, it is a hilarious movie! (Some people have told me I remind them of the character in that film... ha ha...)

As a kid, I loved all the ROCKY movies. When RockyII came out, I remember I had the book, t-shirt, poster, and sondtrack! I guess you can say that movie had an impact on me. I liked the fact that Rocky, even though he was an underdog, faced and conquered his challenges.

(I'm half Italian. How could I NOT root for Rocky Balboa!!?)

I grew up in a house where the radio was almost always on. Whether it was my older brother listening to Aerosmith, Foreigner, Tom Petty and Van Halen; my older sister playing Chicago, Crosby Stills & Nash and the Bee Gees; my other sister listening to Oingo Boingo or .38 Special, or my mom playing Dean Martin or Barbara Streisand, there was ALWAYS some good music on. That's why I have such diverse taste today. I like everything from Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton, to Pearl Jam, Black Crowes, Smashing Pumpkins, and Live, to The Cranberries, No Doubt, Jewel and Joan Osborne to Niel Diamond, Kenny Rodgers and Johnny Mathis! And they're All talented!

  • But no matter whats on, music just makes the day cooler. There's nothin better than hoppin' in the car, gettin' the Super Big Gulp Dr. Pepper, and playin' the tunes! (yeah, I'm pretty easy to please!)

  • A favorite site I found has all kinds of sound bytes; From movies, tv, commercials, etc! It's a very fun site. Here are two examples of my favorites!:

Click here: I dressed up as The Incredible Hulk for halloween in grammar school; Green makeup, ripped shirt and all!

Click here for the 2nd sound wav. (I think I see a theme here!  haha)

The site is called "The Daily Wav". Click here to check it out!

For those of you who LOVE music like I do, check out ReelRadio.com. Those of you who grew up in So. Cal. will get a kick out of it; they have the old commercials from KMET!! and KLOS! Very cool. They have 100's of real audio tapes from radio; Bands, interviews, and many disc jockeys from the past and present, from all over the country.

  • As I've gotten older, I watch less and less t.v., so I read now more than I used to. One show I do like is HOMICIDE on NBC. It's a well written, intense show with interesting characters. The show is based on the book HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE KILLING STREETS by David Simon. This is not fiction; He spent a year riding with the homicide unit in Baltimore, Maryland, and the book is an account of that year.

  • An All Time Favorite book of mine is one that I found by accident. My sister is an avid reader and collector of books; one day I was over her house and saw a book by ECHO HERON entitled INTENSIVE CARE: THE STORY OF A NURSE. It is a compelling book, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading.

  • A really cool inspirational group of books that I like is the CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL series. There are several volumes out, and each one contains 101 stories that encourage, "lift the spirit or just make you think. I remember one about a little boy who had an ill sister. The girl needed a blood transfusion, and the boy was asked if he would help. He said that if it would help his sister get better, then he would give blood. As he lay on the table giving blood, he asked how soon he would die. He thought that by saving his sisters' life he would die, and he still offered. wow. If you like powerful stories like that, you will enjoy these books.
