Hi! My name is Marty; Welcome to my website! I've only been on the internet a few months, but I think it has a lot of promise and possibilities. I've already found that it can be informative and entertaining. Well, actually, this about sums it up: HaHa!


One of the things the internet can do is bring together people with similar interests; kind of like a "cyber" neighborhood. I was born and raised in California, and I have a healthy lifestyle. I love dogs, and I have a huskie who takes up a lot of my time! I like to be informed, and have opinions on the latest news; not just politics, but human interest stories and happenings around California and the nation. This site includes medical news, info.on food and physical fitness, lifestyle choices, and ethics and morality. It ALSO has a section on stuff I like...movies, music, books, dogs, etc!! This site has links to some of the things I'm interested in.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger, syndicated radio host and author of several books including "Ten Stupid Things Women do to mess up their lives", "How could you Do That!", and "The Ten Commandments", takes on callers and addresses issues in a spunky, no-nonsense style. Whether you agree with her opinions or not, I think it's important to discuss moral issues, and bring them out into the open. (plus, I always like a good arguement!). Dr. Laura was in the news recently because a man she had had a relationship with in the past released some nude photos of her!! Well, needless to say..this got a lot of attention! Dr. Dean Edell, M.D., keeps up on all the latest breaking medical news and medical journals. He has a GREAT website that is very informative and helpful. I checked it out when I was at home sick with the flu and bronchitis!! It's like having reliable medical information at your disposal... for free! He takes questions from listeners AND e=mails and gives his opinion on medical related news stories. So if ya need to know ANTHING from asthma to migranes, check it out! He even discusses subjects you might not expect on a medical sight, such as:Internet Addiction, The "War On Drugs", Road Rage, and Job Stress!!

I am also self-employed, so I like to meet other people with businesses of their own. I think the best part of working for yourself, aside from the security and freedom, is being able to sleep in and not get fired! HA!!
So basically, this site of mine is part news and part personal.

• OK..I just heard that San Bernardino and Riverside counties in California are statistically the worst places in the COUNTRY for Road Rage!!
  Hmmm...I wonder if I was one of the angry drivers who was reported?! Ha Ha! Naw.. I'm a very good driver...I just hate it when idiots drive 50mph in the FAST LANE!!!

• I just heard this on the radio on March 18th...The City of Philladelphia is considering suing cigarette makers for the cost of putting out fires that were started by cigarettes!! That has got to be one of the stupidest things I have EVER heard!! So instead of blaming who is at fault, the dope who fell asleep while smoking, they're going for the deep pocketed tobacco companies!! Geez... What is the world coming to!! Next are the relatives of the victims of the fire!! Are they going to sue the tobacco companies also?! All I have to say about that is The legal arguement they're using is that the companies put a chemical in the cigarettes to help keep them burning, even when it's not being puffed on. But does that mean they should be held responsible for the negligence of some dope?!! By the way...I don't smoke! Yuck!
  
  
  
• How about the girl who got suspended from school for bringing a butterknife to school in her lunchpale?! Or the other girl who got BUSTED for giving her sick friend an asprin!!? What do you think? Sounds like a drug pusher to me!! Geez... I think that this "zero tolerance" rule has gone amuck!!
  
  
  
• What about the mother who was on fertility drugs and had eight kids, because she refused to abort any??! Well, I personally feel that having eight kids at once is kinda creepy and not as God or nature intended. And if the mother wanted to "leave it in Gods hands" as she said, then she wouldn't have taken the freaky drugs to begin with! However, I bet the babies were happy with her decision!!
  
  
  
• What do you think of the medical marijuana intitiative that was passed in California? And even if you don't agree with it, don't you think the elected officials should accept it and not try to challenge it? Because after all, it WAS the WILL OF THE PEOPLE! Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all an advocate of marijuana... I've never used any illegal drugs. But the issue is that if the people speak, their vote should stand!!
