CHRISTIAN ACTION FOR PEACEFUL AND MEANINGFUL ELECTIONS

[Events]   [Bulletin Board]  [Info]

A broad-based non-partisan coalition of lay, non-governmental, institutional, diocesan, and religious organizations and volunteers open to all men and women of good will gathered together by a shared desire to work for meaningful, honest, orderly and peaceful elections.

 MAIN OBJECTIVES

To help develop a mature and informed electorate as a means to radically transform our political processes and institutions into meaningful vehicles for full human development

To protect the sanctity of the ballot by supporting and creating nationwide systems that will protect the entire electoral process from fraud and manipulation

 PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

Mobilize and consolidate a nationwide network of organizations, volunteers and resources in support of the electoral programs of each diocese in close coordination with the bishops with the seminarian network and the lay and religious groups forming the core.

Work in full support and solidarity with the CBCP, VOTE-CARE, PPC-RV and NAMFREL by giving them full access to our established network and available resources, particularly, at the level of each diocese and in the following area:

CBCP:  Pastoral Action and Coordination
VOTE-CARE: Voters Education
PPC-RV: Poll watching
NAMFREL: Quick Count Operations

Support and augment Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan’s voters’ education programs and, at the same time, identify gaps and weaknesses in existing electoral programs, in order, to develop possible activities to fill and augment these gaps and weaknesses.
