I got accepted as the new system-manager at work and I have to be re-educated from the bookkeeping into the system manager (Am I a real manager now? Oh no! Oh no!! Not me.).

It might get even worse in my 'non-updating' within the next 3 weeks because after that period my collegues there will be gone and they want to learn me loads of what and where they did. Bert and Jolanda (the ones that hold the position now) will work late with me so they have lil' more time to tell me all I wanna know so I should be able to do the job. I will also get training in Windows NT (certified by MS (for what it is worth)), PC Trouble shooting (I liked shooting when I was serving the nation in the army) and an extended Word training so I know more than the average user (I really hope that I will know more). The night after the day I got the news that I got accepted I dreamt that they gave me a laptop to try different programs at home. But it was a very strange one. The screen was on my side and I had to really overstretch my neck to see what I was doing and the keyboard was on the other side. I asked Bert to give me an external mouse and keyboard 'cause I didn't like working like that... I told the controller the day after about my dream (only told I dreamt that I was using a laptop!) and he said that I would get either a laptop or a HARDDISK at company-costs....HAHA Better hand over that laptop right now... If I will be working programms at home I guess it would be nice if I could sit in the livingroom with Anita because she might get lonely. I sure don't like the idea of a complete multimedia computer (my ole faithfull) in our livingroom. OR EVEN WORSE...going from my room to the livingroom and vice versa.

Will hear more about my job on Monday (ie salary). I just hope that I will earn a lil' more than I do now so we can pay the house AND still have money in the bank...Else it will just be, pay the house...(grin).
