A dragons scales are strong and hard and are used to protect it from harm. Dragon scales are shaped like a teardrop, and overlap neatly. The dragon is a very clean and particular creature and loves to keep his scales in immaculate condition. Dragon scales are made of a substance secreted by the dragon, this sectetion is rich in minerals and it is this which give the scales their hardness and colour. Dragon scales are prized by mercenary warriers who use them to make their armour. This armour would (or so it is beleived) prove the worth of the warrier, but most scales used in the making of armour are very small, indicating that they come from a young dragon.
