These life size sculptures of boxing champions Carmen Basilio and Billy Backus were commissioned by the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Shortly after the Basilio piece was completed, Durand received the commission for prizefighter "Billy Backus," Carmen's nephew.

Both of these sculptures are on permanent display at the International Boxing Hall of Fame at Canastota, New York. Canastota is the home town of both boxers.
