John Forshee
This painting of a well-known tinsmith was purchased by his grandson, and donated to the library in the town where Forshee lived.
It is a point of interest that Mr. Durand saw a wooden shovel being made by another old-time craftsman, when he went to see the film on John Forshee. Durand decided to try out the local Basswood, which was used for these shovels, and that is now the ONLY wood he uses for his full-log sculptures.
