Rated: PG-13

This movie contains language, violence, adult content, and Ben Affleck. Due to the fact that Ben Affleck is in this movie, I would not recommend it to small children, as he may frighten them.

Type: Action

***1/2 (out of five stars)

In this movie, a huge asteroid the size of Texas is headed towards earth, threatening to end all life as we know it. Many small and large pieces of the asteroid have already broken off, destroying a few cities. NASA calls for a team of oil drillers, led by Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), to drill a hole in the asteroid and set a nuclear bomb off inside it. Bruce Willis and his expert team of oil drillers are sent in high tech, experimental space shuttles to the asteroid, where they are to land and work on detonating the bomb.

Although the movie is often suspenseful and entertaining, has some good action scenes, and the effects are cool, it takes awhile for the good part to start, it's a standard disaster movie, and some of the scenes are somewhat unbelievable. Altogether, you'll probably enjoy this movie when you see it, but it won't be an extremely memorable experience.
