The movie then continues to 1925. An American, Rick O'Connel, who is a member of the foreign legion, discovers what he believes is Hamenaptra (I'm sure I didn't spell that right), the lost Egyptian City of the Dead. He recruits a young woman, Evelyn, who studies ancient Egyptian history, and her brother Jonathan, along with several others to help him find the treasures of Hamenaptra. Instead, they end up releasing the curse of Imhotep and must stop him before he becomes completely invincible.

"The Mummy" is filled with action and special effects, and a good amount of suspense. What is lacks is an original plot. If you're looking for another mindless action flick, be sure to check out "The Mummy". If you're looking for something a little more sophisticated, I would suggest something else.
