There was once an alligator, Wally was his name, Who knew he had to find a mate Before he went insane. He searched all through the Everglades, But the right one wasn't found, Until one day he broke the rules And wandered into town.
He bought a box of candy, A special valentine, So he'd be really ready The minute he would find That special little 'gator, The one he'd know was right; O Wally wandered far and wide, Alone all through the night.
He searched the local nightspots, The parks, even the zoo Poor old Wally caused a fuss... Whatever would he do?!
He wandered into backyards And questioned every pet, But all of this was done in vain, He had no answer yet.

ALAS, the animal control was called For causing such a fuss. They had to catch this lovesick gator; They knew this was a must. He was chased and tied, bound and gagged And tossed into a truck It seems our lovesick 'gator Had just run out of luck. But wait! Behold, there just ahead, An alligator farm. They'd put him there with other ones, To keep him safe from harm.
Gently they untied him And sadly he looked around; Now, he thought, a partner Will never ever be found. But to his right, a voice so sweet Softly spoke his name. Eyes so soft, scales so small, "Wally! I'm glad you came" She welcomed him to her abode And fed him shell fish, a la mode And now they have a family Of little 'gators, one, two three!
