Pikör

Pikör is a dark bay, 16.1 hand German Trakehner/Rhinelander stallion born on December 26, 1974. He is a son of Donauwind, THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER SIRE OF THE 1980'S, and half-brother to Olympic and Pan Am Games gold medallist, Abdullah(1970). His granddam, Donaulied vom Schimmelhof, is one of the all time premier mares in the breed. Pikör is a Grand Prix dressage horse with scores in the high 60's and 70's. He has also been successfully shown in 3-day eventing. He is a proven producer of jumpers and has a great temperament.

Pikör is in the premier mare family No. 17 - Pelargonie. Pikör stood at stud at the Verband farms of Hunnesruck and Birkhausen before being imported to North America via Canada.

We are aware of two of his 7 Main Stud Book Mares and three Stud Book Mares,they are 2 German Approved Daughters - Annemarie and Heidebiene, and two performing offspring Heideklang and Heidekönig. In North America we know of 4 daughters: Rapsody,Romanze and Allure

and our filly - Alpintanz out of Aria's Attraktion by Inselkönig.

Heideklang

Heideklang was foaled May 4, 1985 and is a 16.2h gelding owned and ridden by Sarah Cartier in Canada. Prior to being aquired by Sarah, Heideklang was used a school horse,by Betty-Jean Hutton of Campbellville for teaching young riders the basic levels of dressage. This speaks volumes as to his temperament. He was also shown in dressage. His last 2 times out in 1998 he scored in the 60's. He has also been jumped over heights of 3.5 feet. he loves to do flying lead changes as he cantors in the pasture just like Alpintanz. With the barn name of "Sam" he is said by Sarah to have "impecable barn manners, and he is an absolute joy to have in the barn."

In 1999 "Sam" continued his show career with scores in the mid to high 60's. Sarah and "Sam's" most memorable day, however, was the day after he came back from more training. That day they beat the trainer and her young horse with a 71.40%, an excellent showing!
