We here at Halo Art have made a page that is designed specailly for
rhino 3d. It is for help and tutorials....it has info and so on...please
have fun and learn all that you can. If you have any questions please E-Mail
me. We are currently working on this page so it may be a little small now,
but it will be big enough soon enough! :-)
Rhino Specs and Info
Rhino is a design and modeling tool for
industrial, product, and scene designers. If you need it for building cars , jets, packaging, or gears, Rhino is one of the best, and its easy to learn and use.
You can model, edit, and render any
combination of freeform curves, surfaces, and solids. You can then
export your model to down stream processes.
Rhino models are smooth NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines)
curves and surfaces rather than line segments or polygon meshes.
Rhino embraces the full power of the AGLib NURBS modeling technology
to Windows for the first time. Rhino's extraordinary spline-based models can
be used in most any rendering and animation packages, including 3D Studio
MAX, Softimage, and LightWave 3D.
With Rhino, McNeel has provided a modeler that closes the crack
between the pin point accuracy of traditional CAD and the range of
spline-based modeling technology. Not a peice of special hardware is needed.
User interface:
extremely fast 3-D graphics, customizable icons,
unlimited viewports, exact numeric input.
Create 3-D curves:
line, polyline, circle, arc, ellipse, rectangle,
polygon, helix, spiral, conic, TrueType text, point
interpolation, control vertices, sketch.
Create 3-D curves from freeform surfaces:
intersection, contour, section, border, horizon,
reflection, flowline, blend, projection, sketch.
Edit 3-D curves:
control points, Greville points, handle bars, smooth,
raise degree, flatten, add knots, remove knots.
Create freeform surfaces:
from 3 or 4 points, from 3 or 4 curves, from
n-planar curves, rectangle, extrude, ruled, loft,
sweep along a path, sweep along two rail curves,
revolve, rail revolve, blend, n-sided patch, section,
TrueType text.
Edit freeform surfaces:
control points, raise degree, add knots, remove
knots, surface match, blend, Boolean (add, subtract,
intersect).
Create solids:
box, sphere, cylinder, tube, cone, ellipsoid, torus,
extrude planar curve, extrude surface, cap open
planar end, join freeform surfaces, TrueType text.
Edit solids:
Booleans (add, subtract, intersect).
Create meshes:
plane, box, cylinder, cone, sphere, from NURBS
object.
Editing tools:
copy, move, rotate, mirror, scale, stretch, align,
array, trim, split, explode, extend, fillet, chamfer,
join, offset, twist, bend, taper, shear.
Evaluate:
mass properties, nearest point, volume, surface
area, length.

Rhino 3D Review
-
Rhino 3d is due to come out shortly after March, but a date has not
been set yet for the actuall date.
-
The Beta Release that expires June 15 of 1998 is
the largest release of em all. " Tell your friends about Rhino 3D because the
beta release after the next is big!"....words from the people
at Rhino 3D.
