Bill Welsch joined the RCWRT in 2005 when he moved here after retiring
as an administrator at Montclair State University in New Jersey. An
avid interest in both the Civil War and the American Revolution makes
him a much sought-after speaker and tour guide. Bill was a board member
and preservation chairman of the Robert E. Lee CWRT of Central New
Jersey. He also served on the Springfield, NJ Township Committee, was
deputy mayor and president of the library board. He is co-founder and
president of the American Revolution Round Table of Richmond and has
published articles in American Revolution magazine. Bill and his wife,
Gerry have two daughters and five grandchildren.

Message from Our President
Happy New Year!! It doesn't seem possible, but 2012 is now history and
we are into a new year. We hope that everyone enjoyed the Christmas and
New Year's holidays and are ready to attend our RCWRT meetings this
year. Bruce Venter has an outstanding schedule of speakers for this
year. It will start with out own Bill Welsch who is also a noted
historian. See you next Tuesday the 8th!

Historical Lectures in February...
Two members of the Richmond Civil War Round Table will present lectures
at the Virginia Historical Society in February. Visit the VHS website
to read about these two "See You in Class" sessions in February 14 & 28.

Second VP Bert Dunkerly will present two lectures on Jamestown
Archeology from 10-11:30 AM on the 14th and 28th
Past President Jack Mountcastle will offer two evening lectures
entitled Triumph and Tragedy . . . the Civil War in 1863.
These discussions will be held on the 14th and the 28th at
5:30-7:00 PM
