Message from Our President
Happy New Year! I hope all our members and their families had a
wonderful holiday season and that 2014 will bring rewarding insights to
you as we continue our study of the great struggle fought 150 years ago.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank some folks who were most
helpful to me during my term as 1st Vice President. Brent Morgan was
extremely supportive of all my efforts to provide you with great
speakers. Jack Mountcastle unfailingly lent an ear to my myriad
questions and provided excellent guidance throughout my two years as 1st
and 2nd VP. Gary Cowardin was always there to help our speakers with
their technology needs. Bert Dunkerly never hesitated to offer me a
helping hand. Our treasurer, Richard Grosse was quick to provide
reimbursement checks to help my cash flow with speaker expenses. More
recently, Sandy Parker explained the invaluable background story of the
president's gavel. Past and present board members, Jack Ackerly, Dan
Balfour, John Coski and Bobby Krick provided keen advice and support for
my speaker selections. And finally, I'd like to thank my good friend,
Bill Welsch for accepting the post of 2nd VP; he'll do a great job.
As your 2014 president, let me say to all RCWRT members that this is
your organization. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to
help you enjoy our great RCWRT even more.
