Andrew Duppstadt is the Assistant Curator of Education and Historic Weapons Program Coordinator for the NC Division of State Historic Sites. His previous experience includes work at the CSS Neuse State Historic Site, Fort Fisher State Historic Site, and Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens. He is also an Adjunct Instructor of History at UNC-Pembroke, Coastal Carolina Community College, and Craven Community College.Andrew holds a BA and MA in history from UNC-Wilmington, and served as a teaching assistant to renowned Civil War historian Dr. Chris Fonvielle. He is a member of the Company of Military Historians and the Southern Historical Association. He is also a founding member and President of the Carolina Living History Guild. Andrew's presentation will cover the history of the CSS Neuse through its career as a Confederate ironclad and its preservation as one of North Carolina's largest Civil War artifacts.
