Message from Our President
Join us for our December 10th meeting when we will hear Mike Miller talk
on the Battle of Bristoe Station.
Also, we will have a short but important business meeting to hear
reports from Sandy Parker and Richard Grosse before conducting the
election of officers for 2014. The slate for your review and approval
includes the following: President - Bruce Venter, 1st VP - Robert
Dunkerly, 2nd VP - Bill Welsch. Secretary - Sandy Parker and Treasurer
- Richard Grosse. Gary Cowardin has also agreed to serve again as
Webmaster and Newsletter Editor. Three former Round Table Presidents,
as selected by the membership and the immediate Past President will
comprise the remainder of the Executive Committee for 2014. Nominations
from the floor will be welcome.
In closing this message just a personal note. As many of you know the
past several weeks have been difficult for me as cancer was detected and
removed and I am now on chemo drugs and a few other tests to be sure
will be taken. I apologize for missing the November dinner as I know
that I missed a top-notch presentation by Bill Young and a superb meal.
I'm truly appreciative of the notes, cards, emails and phone calls from
so many of you. This goes to show what a first class group we have. I
thank everyone for their great support. 2014 is almost here so please
join me in welcoming our new and re-enlisting officers.
