Our current science project is agriculture. Brandon and Beth were required to maintain a gardening journal in which they wrote their plans for their gardens, their projections for the amount of harvest, the cost of planting the gardens, and what the projected value of the produce would be. In addition, they had to draw a layout of their gardens and figure how many square feet they would be and how many rows in each garden. They also had to study soil, composting, insect pests, and environmental impact of the home garden.

Then they plotted their gardens using a tape measure and a string to mark them off. After we purchased seeds and plants, they planted their gardens and are currently required to maintain them.

While it is a lot of hard work, there is also a lot of satisfaction in what they are getting as a result of all that work.
