"You look like one too." Said Jade, laughing. Zac looked very surprised, and then commented, "Hey, I’m the one who makes the jokes around here!" They all laughed.

After a while they played Truth or Dare. Zac dared Jade to sing a song, so she sat behind Taylor’s keyboard and played some notes, and then launched into ‘Yearbook,’ her favourite song on the Hansons CD.

As soon as she’d finished, they Hanson boys all winked at each other, and ran upstairs, leaving Jade staring after them. She sighed, then followed them upstairs.

When she got back to the party, the boys were in a corner of the room with their dad, nodding and talking quietly. When she walked in they all turned around looking sheepish, even Walker.

"I’d like to make an announcement. The boys and I have discussed it, and we have agreed that if Jade would like too, she can a member of the band. Jade…are you willing?" said Walker.

Jade gasped. She was so shocked, that she fell of her chair and lay on the ground puffing and panting. Then she realized that they were all expecting an answer. She grinned.

"I think we can take that as a yes, right?" said Isaac and everyone laughed.

"Then I’d like to propose a toast. To the newest band member, Jade, and happy birthday, Jade!" said Isaac. Everyone raised their glassed and clinked them together, except for Mackie, who picked his milk up and poured it over Avie’s head.

At about midnight that night the party was still going strong. The adults were discussing all the details, Diana making plans for the wedding with Blake (Jade’s dad) and Walker helping out with the tour schedule.

The three younger kids were all asleep in front of the TV with the last scenes of Aladdin playing.

And Jade and the three boys were up in the boys bedroom. Taylor sat on his bed writing something down on a piece of paper. Isaac was on the floor, against the wall, strumming chords on his guitar. Zac was lying on his trundle bed, playing a hand-held video game. Jade was stretched out in the middle of the room, just lying there.

"I don’t think there could be any more surprises in my whole LIFE!" she said aloud.

"Oh there will be more, believe me." said Taylor with an amount of certainty in his voice. Then he realized he had probably hinted too much, so he blushed. "That’s life, you know." he said, trying to cover up his mistake.

Jade was so tired she didn’t even notice, however the two other boys looked at each other. Taylor had planned something, and he hadn’t even told them. Now that was weird.

Blake popped his head in the door. "Come on, Jade. It’s been a long day, time to get some rest, huh?" He yawned. He ducked out again. Jade stood up and so did the three boys.
