Oh God, Yuuhi. Okay, begin at the beginning, and when you get to the end, stop.

Yuuhi was the only one close to Ranith's age mates, since Ryuukami children are rare -- he's still four years older than her, currently 58. He is the only other survivor, and where Ranith was sold into a freak show when discovered, his empathic abilities were ripped wide open by the massacre of their species, and he was later sold as a pleasure slave to a series of corporate enterprises that specialized in exotic 'reward packages' for successful higher employees. An empathic dragon who looks like a little boy is definately up there on the 'exotic' list. Ah, his appearance. Yuuhi is actually mentally and physically older than Ranith, though he looks like a barely pubescent twelve and she looks like a seventeen year old girl. Ranith isn't even pubescent yet. (When she is, she'd be in season and we'd get some little kid Ryuukami) Males have a slower growth rate than females in their 'human' forms, and are smaller on the whole in their 'dragon' forms too, so Yuuhi looks much younger than Ranith.

Now, before we get into the rest of Yuuhi's past, we gotta get into Ryuukami mating habits because you're all going 'but Yuuhi likes BOYS! They'd never have kids!' Well, see, since they don't have a high birth rate, the Ryuukami evolved so that if they mated with other races, they absorb some of the other race's DNA to allow variation and prevent the dangers of inbreeding in a small community. However, since the human form can be similar to a number of other races, there could be a risk of pregnancy and breeding OUT the Ryuukami strand, so although they can be attracted outside of their own race, they are only attracted to the same gender if so.

ANYHOW, Yuuhi was part of a Package Deal (Same one Third was, in fact) and then one day, Ranith and her dear friend Janus happened to 'take care' of the corporate businessman -- it's a hobby -- and Yuuhi wanders in a state of dishabille and looks with wide eyes at Ranith, who has just finished killing his master, and says, "Sachi, why is there blood on your hands?" See, the Ryuukami were pacifists. Completely. Yuuhi just doesn't seem to exactly forgive Ranith for this. She's not the Sachi he knew, and so he treats her a little like a stranger. So, while Janus gets the other pets out, Ranith takes Yuuhi home with her.

Yuuhi putters around the place, goes out to have sex (he is aware and an empath, and very much likes making people feel good), and generally makes Ranith worry about him, though he never actually argues with her. Then one day, Ranith comes home, gives him a basket of booze and directions, and tells him to come right home after. He goes and meets Sentai and gets to 'know' Sentai. Likes Sentai. Makes Sentai feel good. Talks with Sentai. Declines Sentai's offers of booze. Once gets high off Sentai. Generally focusses on Sentai and stops having sex with the random guys off the street. (Fear Ranith and Yuuhi's children -- little psychopathic empaths who set things on fire when they're angry.) He actually likes Sentai well enough to spend time teaching Sentai how to read Japanese, as well as the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Yuuhi is VERY smart, and knows several languages other than Japanese, including English, Latin, and Old Greek.

Oh, one more thing. Yuuhi refuses to release what he knows of the people who 'trained' him as a pet, especially 'the man with dark eyes'. He was attatched to them, for good or for worse, and doesn't want Ranith to kill them, too.
