Harukami's BESM Game!

The truth behind certain NPCs
(Some characters, like Third, aren't all they seem)

This section has SPOILERS!!! I can't STOP my PCs from reading 'em, but if this knowledge is used in-game, somebody will suffer. A lot. To make it so that players can read bits, everything that the players know'll be on this section, with links to the bits with spoilers the characters don't know. So you can check out what you do know, but if you're a player, do NOT click the links provided! Oh, you'll notice not all NPCs are covered here -- those are the once who don't have spoilers behind 'em.

Reion Washu

Reion is the elder brother of Sirku and has been showing a lot of interest in Doink, yet hasn't been acting on his desires. He and his younger brother were the wards of a person known only as 'the Sensei', who was the elderly fellow running the Hanabi Jinja. The Sensei was recently assassinated and Reion revealed that he has been fully trained to take over the Jinja, both in a religious fashion and in the Jinja's less known role, that of training psionicists. Although a usually centered person with a calm head in bad situations and a powerful psionicist, Reion is clearly not a fighter and tries to stay out of battles, preferring to let the others --even Doink, who he's blatantly protective of-- do the brawling instead. After the Sensei's very unfortunate death, he has removed himself from school at Tigurami, where he had been a year ahead of the PCs, so that instead he can devote all his time to running the temple. Currently, he's the only power holding up the temple warding. Reion is fairly ordinary-looking, with short brown hair and deep, calm brown eyes. More recently, he's been dressing more in temple garb than in his school uniform.

Reion's SPOILERS!!

Sirku Washu

Sirku is Reion's younger brother, about ten years old. Although he, like his brother, seems to display some kind of deep serenity, on the surface he's fairly roudy, and is often sent on grocery missions and so on to get rid of excess energy. Also a psionicist, he's a lot less powerful than his brother and tends to forget he's got psionics unless reminded. He likes fresh air, biscuits, cuddly toys, and matchmaking -- he's always trying to get Doink and his brother together. He's friendly until you treat him badly, at which point he will treat you with suspicion until you get back in his good books. He is in grade 4 in Tigurami Lower School and the heros first met him when he was sitting on the edge of the roof to eat his lunch. Tenshi kicked him off the roof, and they found out he had psionics when he teleported himself away before he hit the ground. He refused to forgive her until she gave him the stuffed toy Skeeve had given to Third. Sometimes it seems Sirku's energy is hiding some kind of hurt, but most of the time, he seems like a perfectly ordinary ten-year-old.

Sirku's SPOILERS!!

N-kun/Nakoku-san

As Skeeve said, N-kun is a little kid in the day and a teenage boy at night. He seems to despise his curse of becoming a teenager, yet utilizes it whenever possible to do things a kid couldn't do -- get into clubs or bars, for example. He hangs around the temple once in a while and is a damn near genius for a kid, already in grade 11 in high school though he's about eight years old. He skipped a lot of grades. His eyes are a pupilless green and glow in the dark, but this seems to be some spooky side-effect from his curse. He eats a lot of cookies and hangs around the Jinja once in a while, and seems to have followed Ranith to Tigurami high. He likes Ranith, and is one of two people who's seen up her skirt. They figured out that N-kun and Nakoku were the same person from Ranith's sense of smell, as a matter of fact. He shows every sign of growing up into some panty-fetished pervert, and when he's in his teenage form, walks around in tight leather or vinyl that's open to his navel. Cute when he's a kid, bishounen when he's adult. N-kun was one of the children Sentai's fire elementals tried to steal, and was the only one who escaped on his own -- he bit the elemental and hid under the steps in the Tokyo Tower. A weird kid, overall, but not the weirdest thing they've ever come across.

Of course, since this, the party has learned little else about N-kun except that he just so happens to be the avatar of Chaos. Seems to like helping them, but who knows why?

N-kun's SPOILERS!!

Nikemo Mikotaru

Nikemo is possibly the prettiest thing the group's come across, with big green eyes, and soft blue hair falling to frame a delicate, heart-shaped face. Anyone meeting him has to make a perception (average of mind and soul) test to realize that he's male. Poor Nikemo is always suffering under the belief that he is a she, despite his boy's school uniform, tastes in mecha models and anime, and tendancy to fuse bits of metal together as a hobby. Even Kawatta believes with all his heart that Nikki is a girl -- and an extremely beautiful and desireous young lady at that (he had a critical fail on his perception check.). Because of this, Nikki tries to avoid Kawatta, who tends to cling vacuously to Nikki's leg at any given possibility. The party's also realized that Nikki has a secret identity -- Pretty Doll, the city's resident Magicalgirl. Nikki doesn't like people to know his identity for more than safety's sake, though; it's damn embarrassing to have to spend a quarter of your time running around in a pink miniskirt and floofy top. As pretty doll, Nikki seems to like to kick normal villians in the head a lot, but he's learned to attack Tenticle Demons from a distance. Nikemo is also the younger brother of Katsumi and seems fond of Tigurami's Rijichou, Taka Megane, to the point of spontaneously hugging him and always calling him 'Taka-chan'. Nikemo also recently seems to become friends with Third. Nikki skips school every so often to wander around downtown but never seems to get in trouble for it. He's cute. Adorable, in fact. It's very hard not to like Nikki, but the players keep breaking into hysterical laughter when he ducks behind something to transform then attacks with his Magicalgirl attack, Purity Kiss.

Since this time, his brother has learned that he is Pretty Doll, and he has been used as the host for the God of Neutrality. This seems to have no ill effects, though he did have a strong headache when he woke up.

Nikki's SPOILERS!!

Sentai

Sentai is, indeed, a fire demon. Originally appearing in the adventure "Big Fire in Little Tokyo", Sentai was captured by the party when they destroyed one of his two fire elemental servants, and the other escaped through the one-man only gate that Sentai had just opened to escape through. His original plan had been to collect children to drain their energy to give it to his organization, Secret Blade, but the party defeated him and saved the children, bringing him back to the Hanabi Jinja where, after he endured the torments of being forced to pass the wards, he supposedly was cleansed and turned human. Recently they've discovered that he's not just still a demon, he also has a lot of his powers still at his beck and call, though some have been sealed and he's still stuck inside the Jinja. He's stuck there for more than just the power of the wards -- he knows if he leaves, Secret Blade will kill him for surrendering and telling some of his organization's secrets. He already has had one assassination attempt on him by Touma, a nasty ice demon whose head he now keeps in his room as a momento. Although full of bluster, cursing, and a tendancy to hit on all the girls and a few of the boys who come to visit him, he shows a grudging respect to some of the group and seems, at this point, to honestly want to help them. He is, however, sleeping with Ranith's cousin Yuuhi, who is apparently a boy of twelve years old. A young twelve. Either he hasn't caught on to the concept of age of consent, or he just doesn't give a damn. Recently, Yuuhi's been trying to teach him to read and write Japanese, which he has trouble with, and the Tea Ceremony, which he doesn't have the patience for. It is, however, keeping him from going insane while stuck in basically one room for the rest of his forseeable future. Sentai has red hair, dusky skin, and an inverted triangle birthmark between his eyebrows.

Sentai also has a stalker, which is the Air Demon Eurie. He is NOT fond of her, and doesn't care who knows it. She responds to this remarkably well, considering.

Sentai's SPOILERS!!

Sumire Ichihashi

First appearing in the adventure "Chibi Artshow of Horrors", Sumire is a pretty red-haired, violet-eyed artist who has a tendancy to hidbe behind huge glasses. She was one of the artists in the school system-wide meeting and a prize student of Warumono High, Tigurami's rival school. Skeeve fell instantly in lust with her and started hitting on her; she has agreed several times since to meet him for ice cream and stuff, so it looks like he's getting somewhere. He might have reason to be nervous, however -- the magical painting which summoned the tenticle demons during the artshow seems to have her as the nude model. Perhaps it isn't her; however -- a magical scan shows that although she does have some magical abilities, they're latent.

Since then, the party learned that she was brainwashed by Kunzite and Zoicite and 'raised' as their child. She was also used as the host for the good god during the summoning ceremony, and has since become engaged to Skeeve against his will.

Sumire's SPOILERS!!

Katsumi Mikotaru

First appearing in the adventure "Big Fire in Little Tokyo", Katsumi is in the grade of the PCs and sits to the right of Doink in class at Tigurami. He has shoulder-length navy hair, dark eyes, and usually a put-upon or depressed expression. It is completely obvious to everybody but his best friend Sai that he's in love with Sai. Currently he seems to not be very fond of Doink. Katsumi is actually 'Shi' (Death), part of the Superhero team Death and Rebirth. He transforms into a robe-wearing fellow with a headband and an orb that shoots ofuda (wards) versus evil. Katsumi is very serious and rarely if ever descends into joking. He is very protective of his younger brother, although it's been implied they rarely see each other except at dinner time. His level of protectiveness seems to indicate that he doesn't know his brother's secret identity. Katsumi is also an ESPer (psionicist) and thus can be found at the temple a lot.

Katsumi's SPOILERS!!

Sai Keikaiku

The other half of the Death and Rebirth superhero team, Saisei (Rebirth), Sai is in the PCs' grade and sits to the left of Doink in class at Tigurami high. He is cheerful, with a bright smile, blue eyes, and curly blue hair just long enough to flip up in a duck-tail -- fairly ordinary looking, but hardly ugly. He is also one of the most clueless people in existance, completely impervious to his best friend Katsumi's mournful stares. He is very focussed on 'right' and 'wrong' and tends to forget gray areas exist, though if he finds one, he seems to get uncomfortable and ignore it. When he transforms, he gains a martial arts gi, wrappings, and a headband. Sai has recently lost his left hand when he realized his ESP (which is in Telekenesis and nothing else) wouldn't be able to stop a sniper's bullet and tried to put his hand in the way of the laser sight instead, to save the life of the Sensei. It wasn't fast enough, and he lost his hand as well as the Sensei's dying. Sai got a huge crush on Doink when they first met, and has been pining after her ever since, frequently asking her out on dates and not giving up when she says no, since she's never actually given a long-term response. He also plays junior-level soccer, which some people think is suspicious, what with his telekenesis. Sai also appeared in the adventure "Big Fire in Little Tokyo"

Sai's SPOILERS!!

Yuuhi

Ranith's cousin. Yuuhi is seemingly a twelve-year-old little boy with curly golden hair down to his shoulder blades and positively huge eyes. He tends to wander around Ranith's apartment and the Hanabi Jinja in an over-sized man's shirt, partially open, and extremely short shorts. (Who wears short shorts? YUUHI wears short shorts!) When Yuuhi talks, it's in a very mild, quiet voice, and he has panic attacks when too many people are in the same room as him. He also has a tendancy to hit on any males who give him the opportunity. Yuuhi is clearly intelligent, and is the one teaching Sentai how to read and write Japanese, as well as teaching him the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony(ies). Yuuhi has, obviously, a lot of patience. When the Sensei died, Yuuhi fell unconcious, just as the majority of the ESPers did. Yuuhi can often be found in the Jinja, as he seems to be Sentai's quite willing lover, often slinging idle innuendo at the players. Yuuhi appeared (audibly, anyway) for the first time in the adventure special "Deep Freeze" at GenCon 2000. Yuuhi is one of the few things that can bring out Ranith's caring side, although his comments also seem to send her fists and head through walls in frustration. He also calls Ranith 'Sachi'. All in all, quite the male-lolita minx for such a soft-spoken child.

Yuuhi's SPOILERS!!

Gabriel/Third

Third first appeared in the adventure "Clash of the MRCS" when it quite literally bumped into the PCs in the mall. It was, at that time, being guided by a teacher known as 'Zonmei', later revealed to be Zoicite. Third is a natural hermaphrodite, with XYX-chromasomes that include breasts and both male and female genitilia, and is technically insane. Completely. It talks in third person a lot (actually, it switches tenses randomly, and tends to drop pronouns randomly from its sentances). That aside, although it has a childlike demeanour, and it's age of 13, it is clearly sexually aware, perhaps brought on early because of all the indications of rape and other signs it didn't have much of a childhood. It shoots nearly any gun like a pro and was the pilot for the MRCS Prototype when they were using it to try to get Kawatta's MRCS Mark I. It isn't body shy at all; someone asked if it had the scars from the operation needed to implant the metal rods in the spine to allow MRCS piloting, and it dropped its shirt in the middle of the school. When given a toy teddy bear by Skeeve, it didn't know what to do with the bear, and ended up giving it to Tenshi to give to Sirku. Although a good shot, Third is a natural victim, and obeys any order at all given to it, though some questions seem to hit a barrier of 'rank' where someone with higher 'rank' gave it orders earlier that countered the previous questions. During the adventure "Sentai Must Die!", Third was raped and beaten black and blue by an American marksman and martial artist, Tom Ferguson, who is now in jail. Third is, if nothing else, aware of its many hangups; it told the party when it was armed and taken with them, that if it got hit once, it would go limp and basically catatonic. Third is highly intelligent, but there is no order to its thoughts --Doink was forced into unconciousness when she tried to read its mind. Third is thin, with messy blond hair framing a pretty face with perminantly-wide eyes and a fixed smile. It is also the only person on the PCs side who seems to have had contact with the villian Seraphim, but so far is having trouble talking about the things he's said or done to Third.

Of course, the party has learned a lot more about Third in the first season. Third was, of course, working for Seraphim all along... Seraphim was the female group-home owner and mother-figure, Sera Lewellyn. Third was aware of Secret Blade and followed its orders, but was unable to tell the party due to the 'rank' system. Third also was the assassin of the Sensei.

Third's SPOILERS!!!

Zoicite and Kunzite

Watch Sailormoon if you want character details. Although this is post first-season and Skeeve has heard of the dissolution of the Dark Kingdom, Zoicite and Kunzite seem to be back and out for his life (though technically, since all Sailormoon characters are out for his life, this isn't a BIG surprise). What IS a surprise is that they're apparently now working for someone named 'Seraphim'. Zoicite also recently showed up undercover as a teacher at Warumono High, Zonmei-sensei, who was the teacher in charge of the Mechanical Design Club. He managed to subvert a number of the students, including Third, to work with the MRCS Prototype, which had supposedly been stolen by terrorists years earlier. Later, he kidnapped Kawatta's mech team and held 'em hostage. He seems to have vanished since Ranith blew his cover -- sort of-- to the school.

Except, of course, they showed up and died when the party came to kill Seraphim.

Zoicite and Kunzite's SPOILERS!!

Taka Megane

The Rijichou (Chairman, one step above Principal/Head Teacher) of Tigurami High, Taka Megane is a mild, overworked-looking man of early twenties with short-cropped mint green hair and blue eyes, with square glasses. He is never seen around the school; only seen, in fact, in his office, which most of the school doesn't know exists. Apparently a family friend of Nikemo and Katsumi, Taka first appeared in "Chibi Artshow of Horrors", begging that the characters take care of Nikki. He was also kidnapped suspicously during "Frozen Ambitions" which somehow enabled the school seal to be stolen. It's complex, and Nikemo, who seems to be the only one who understands how the demons/Seal/Taka thing works, doesn't seem inclined to talk about it. He was returned later that evening, and will not talk about what happens to him. There are some hints he's got a thing going with his 15-year-old student Nikemo, but so far this hasn't gone beyond an embarrassing display of public affection in the form of a hug. Dear god, protect him.

Taka's SPOILERS!!

Yukai Kimochi

The Rijichou of Warumono High, Yukai is a fairly bishounen man, probably in his early thirties, with ash-coloured hair and dark eyes. He seems fairly well-wishing to the PCs, which is more than they can say of the rest of Warumono at times -- in fact, in the adventure "Chibi Artshow of Horrors", he requested the use of the PCs to protect the place when he got threatening notes. In fact, so far, there's nothing really negative to say about this guy other than his poor taste in hiring Zoicite and a tendancy to smile a lot.

Oh, yeah, and the fact that he was actually Secret Blade's Earth Demon, Chihan. A reasonable sort of guy, considering, but was completely taken with following the orders of Seraphim. He was a master illusionist, and ended up, when killed by the party, sending his own life energy to Seraphim to allow her to complete the summoning of the three gods.

Yukai's SPOILERS!!

Touma

Also known as 'Touma-that-bastard' as named by Sentai, who loathes Touma with a passion. It's mutual. Touma's an ice demon, or was, since he's now dead with his head kept in Sentai's room. Hints of Touma first appeared in the GenCon special "Deep Freeze" but he didn't actually appear until "Frozen Ambitions" where he stole the School Seal. He was very calm and manipulative with a clear mind; when in danger of his life he surrendered, than cut and ran first chance he got. He is a thinker, not a fighter, as evidenced by Tenshi's killing him in one round when they fought in "Sentai Must Die!" He did, however, manage the assassination of the Sensei with the end goal of attempting to kill Sentai, though he only wounded the Fire Demon before he had to escape as Reion raised the wards. He also was keeping an Air Demon sealed in a mirror to try to get her on his side, though he had not succeeded before dying.

Touma's SPOILERS!! Yes, he has them, though he's dead.

Jeanice

Appearing in the adventure "Frozen Ambitions" as backup for the party as provided by Ranith's employers, Jeanice is as slender as a willow, with a mass of silken ice-white hair in a high ponytail and pale blue eyes. First dressed in a harem-girl outfit for infiltration, Jeanice hasn't seemed to drop the 'readily available' description it implied to the party. Very little is known about Jeanice except kickass fighting ability (when they arrived at the same place Jeanice was, all the guards were dead, and they had had guns, unlike the previous guards who had been giving 'em trouble.) Jeanice also seems to have some robotic skills, frequently arguing with a voice nobody else can hear and able to download information directly -- it was Jeanice who raised the temperature in the room the ice elementals and Touma were staying in. Very little else is known about this mysterious figure, other than that Jeanice seems to be currently running a flower shop, has difficulty with easy math, and was the person who had originally trained Ranith.

As the party learned and as can be told by the singular lack of pronouns there, 'Jeanice' is apparently actually spelled 'J-A-N-U-S', as he's a boy. His form is very feminine, indeed, and the party assumes that he's an android with the rather bad luck of being built like that.

Jeanice's SPOILERS!!

Seraphim

Seraphim was a fallen angel who ran a group home. She was desperate to mother children who had lost their parents, but her big hangup was that these children eventually grow up and leave her. A dark god began to whisper to her, and she decided that, since the world won't change for her, she'll have to change the world. The party ended up killing her in "End Game".

Seraphim's many SPOILERS!!

Eurie

The air demon that Touma imprisoned and tried to turn to his side. A major ditz, with blonde hair in a huge ponytail and breasts out to here. She nevertheless has some power -- she has a crush on Sentai, who's scared shitless of her. Although she SEEMS completely ditzy, she nevertheless was the only one able to find out Chihan's secret power source and destroy it.

Eurie's SPOILERS!!

Sensei

The old master of the temple. Was kindly and knowledgable and very old when he was assassinated by a sniper so that Touma could get at Sentai. Reion and Sirku were his wards.

The Sensei's SPOILERS!!

Tom Ferguson

The American hired by Secret Blade to act as the assassin for the Sensei, though apparently he is more of a martial artist than a marksman. When Doink read his mind, she found out that he wasn't actually the one who killed the Sensei, though he did brutally rape and beat Third. He was good enough in hand-to-hand combat that he was able to take Ranith near unconciousness, and also had some kind of dermal plating. Had a bad accent and a fear of his uncle, but not of big busty redheads. (Points at Skeeve and laughs) He was recently killed in jail.

Tom's SPOILERS!!

Alexandria Richardson

Foreign girl at the scene of the Sensei's murder. Had been discussing some ancient evil thing with him. Since this, the party has learned that she is actually an MI6 agent. She learned that her superiors had been infiltrated by Secret Blade, and fled so she would not be placed in danger. She is currently dwelling in Tokyo.

Alexandria's SPOILERS!!

Honoo

The fire Elemental that got away in Sentai's getaway-gate. Has not been seen from since.

Lucas Tarot

A fortuneteller, recently having set up shop in Midori Park. Apparently has some serious magic powers where divination and precognition are concerned. Has no hands, however, and has replaced them with prosthetics which are metal and rather nastily clawed. PROBABLY has a 'past' of some sort. Still, seems nice enough.
