Imagine being in a room, with four all singing, all dancing, guitar playing, and lets not forget GORGEOUS guys, who are performing some of the most amazing songs you have ever heard in your life. These guys are singing the songs they have written themselves, and you can see the energy this generates inside them. Most people would laugh and say "Yeah, right, keep on dreaming." or "As if" but I was lucky enough to be given this chance.

Because on Friday Nov.12th , 1999, fresh from an exclusive listen to their amazing album, I was invited, along with my friend Alma , to come to a rehearsal of Mytown, the Dublin band who were the only unknown band in the world to ever get a record deal as big as theirs-- $15million from Universal Records.

Upon entering the room the energy they were exerting to their music was instantaneously recognisable. Danny and Terry were playing guitar, Mark and Paul singing with all of their hearts. As the song drew to a close, reality struck me. These were no ordinary band, not just another face for a record company. Mytown had something different, something that none of the other bands around had. This was a special energy that comes from singing from the heart, something unknown to a lot of today's musical talents.

Danny, Paul, Marc and Terry were introduced to me, and were so friendly. They didn't mind having us there watching them while they perfected their act to take to America. They were extremely friendly, not at all big headed, as might be expected from a group of lads constantly being reminded of their greatness. We were fortunate enough to watch them for an hour, during which they displayed their daring dance moves, their musical talent, and soulful voices. Mytown were completely down to earth, and gel together brilliantly. Nice personalities, amazing talent, and their achievements to date.... Mytown are definitely going to hit the big time-- so watch out for them, and remember where you heard it first!!!!!!
