Unappreciated

When I got home from work I was glad
It had been a long day and I was tired
I don't know how I manage it all
School
Colorguard
Work
The strength I have has been given to me
And I'm so happy
Because without it I would surely be
Unappreciated

I'm only sixteen years old
And with so much on my shoulders
It's amazing I handle it all
Responsibility
Friendships
Adulthood
The strength I have has been given to me
And I'm so happy
Because without it I would surely be
Unappreciated

Sometimes the life I live is so confusing
So frustrating
So tiring
So that I can't deal with it anymore
So I wish
Just let me jump in my little box
And pull the lip shut tight
to hide from this bizarre world
and every confusing
scary
new thing that I encounter

But...

I can't do such a foolish thing
To hide from this world
Would be like hiding from myself
And that's something
I could never do
Because the strength I have has been given to me
And I'm so happy
Because without it I would surely be
Unappreciated
