Mildred E. Redinger, 81, was transported to her heavenly home on the morning
of Feb. 5, 1997.
Born in Norfolk, Va., she moved to Akron when she was a young girl, and
graduated from Ellet High School in 1932. She attended Ashland University,
The College of William and Mary, and graduated with a B.A. degree from The
University of Akron. Mildred taught third grade at Roosevelt Elementary in
the 1930's, and was a special education teacher at Woodridge Elementary in
the 1960's and 1970's. She was a member of Ellet Grace Brethren Church.
Mildred had a real love in playing her violin, and taught violin as a young
girl.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, S. Grant Redinger; her children
and their spouses, Sigrid (James) Bryan, Mark (Nora) and Timothy (Mary
Anne); grandchildren, Aaron Redinger, James, Saranne, and Leanne Bryan, and
Kellie, Kristen, Matthew, and Rachel Redinger; four stepgrandchildren, and
six stepgreat-grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by all who
knew her.
Funeral service will be Monday, 12 noon, at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home,
547 Canton Rd., Akron, with Pastor Stephen R. Cisney officiating. Burial at
Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7
p.m. on Sunday, and from 11 a.m. until the service time on Monday. Memorials
