Chapter 35
~ Deanna’s Apartment ~

Lucky never knew that having sex would feel this good. Being with Deanna opened his eyes to the things that he was missing most. How could Liz not want him to hold her in his arms and make love to him? They had always promised that they would be each other’s first…he wondered what was holding her back now. Maybe it was Jason’s influence over her that was making her hold back. Whatever it was he had to find out and still somehow get Elizabeth to stay away from Jason. Maybe the best way to accomplish both was to go to Jason himself and find out just what was going on. He looked over at Deanna’s nude body as she lay sleeping next to him. Their lovemaking tonight was unlike any they had experienced before. He was surprised he even had strength to move after the things they had done. He gently moved to the edge of the bed and stood as he started putting back on his clothes.

Deanna- [still half-asleep] What’s going on? Lucky what’s wrong?
Lucky- [continuing to dress]I gotta go…
Deanna- Lucky where are you going?
Lucky- There’s…there’s something I need to do.
Deanna- This late?
Lucky- Yeah…I can’t avoid it anymore.
Deanna- You’re going to see her aren’t you?
Lucky- Comeon Deanna…not now.
Deanna- You told me it was over.
Lucky- It is…
Deanna- Then why are you always with her? Why haven’t we told anyone about us?
Lucky- Because I’m all she pretty much has…and I can’t just up and leave her like that.
Deanna- I thought she had Jason now.
Lucky- She will not be with Jason if I have anything to do with it.
Deanna- Lucky…
Lucky- Come on Deanna…I don’t fell like arguing about this.
Deanna- Why are you always jumping to her defense…why are you always trying to rescue her?
Lucky- Because she needs my help…whether she knows it or not.
Deanna- I don’t know how much more of this I can take…
Lucky- Deanna you have nothing to worry about.
Deanna- I’m not so sure…
Lucky- [leaning back on the bed to kiss her]I told you after the first time we had sex…
Deanna- [correcting him]Made love…
Lucky- Made love… after the first time we made love what did I tell you?
Deanna- That from that point it was only about you and me…no one else mattered.
Lucky- That’s right…no one else matters…[lightly kissing her exposed shoulder] always remember that…
Deanna- I will…
Lucky- I gotta go…I’ll be back later though…if that’s all right with you.
Deanna- You know it is…
Lucky- [smiling]I know…I’ll see you.
Deanna- [reaching down and gently massaging the hardening length of him] Hurry back…
Lucky- With a promise like that I will…

He kissed her one last time and left to confront Jason at Jake’s. Hopefully Liz will understand that he was only looking out for what was best for her. Hopefully she’ll realize that even being friends with Jason is not good for her.

Chapter 36
~ Jason’s Apartment ~

Carly- Jason…I need…Oh my God!
Jason- [yelling as he rose off of Liz] Carly!
Carly- [screaming] You little slut…I knew you were after him!
Jason- [coming to stand in front of Carly to block her view] Stop it Carly… [Liz stood and tried best to fix her clothes as Carly stared daggers at her.]
Carly- [angrily shouting]I thought I told you to stay away from him.
Liz- Obviously I didn’t listen. [Carly was the last thing she wanted or needed to deal with.]
Carly- How long has this been going on?
Liz- None of your business.
Carly- Who else are you sleeping with? Lucky? Nikolas? You’re nothing more than a common slut!
Jason- Carly…leave her alone.
Carly- Jason how can you defend her when she’s sleeping around on you?
Jason- [yelling]I said stop it!
Carly- Jason…
Jason- Why are you even here?
Carly- Listen to me…I’m just trying to…I want to protect you…
Jason- From what?
Carly- Her…[pointing at Liz as she raised her voice] that little slut…
Jason- [shouting]Get out!
Carly- Jason…
Jason- Don’t ever speak to her like that again. Do you hear me?
Carly- She’s lying to you if she’s…
Jason- Go home Carly.
Carly- Jason…
Jason- Don’t come back…I don’t want to see or talk to you.
Carly- [pleading] Jason…
Jason- Goodbye Carly.
Carly- Jason…you gotta listen to me. She’s…
Jason- Don’t…. [He closed the door in Carly’s face as she continued to protest and slowly turned back to look at Liz] I’m sorry…
Liz- [as she finished fixing her clothes] It’s not your fault.
Jason- I know…but I’m still sorry.
Liz- Do you…what do you think she’s gonna do?
Jason- I don’t know…but I’ll talk to her.
Liz- Do you think she will tell anyone?
Jason- I don’t know…but then again it’s Carly so you never can be too sure…
Liz- It doesn’t matter…
Jason- Yes it does.
Liz- Why?
Jason- I don’t want you to be hurt because of something I did.
Liz- We did… We’re in this together…it was something we both wanted.
Jason- Are you ok?
Liz- [softly laughing] I’m fine…
Jason- Why are you laughing?
Liz- Can’t help it…like you said…it’s Carly. Who else would show up and walk in here at that moment?
Jason- [softy smiling] I guess… You are ok aren’t you? Nothing she said…
Liz- I’m used to things Carly spouts out of her mouth. Nothing she says phases me anymore.
Jason- Are you sure?
Liz- [softly smiling] Yes…I’m sure.
Jason- Come on…I’ll take you home. I need to go and talk to Carly by myself.
Liz- Seriously, I’m ok. There’s no need…
Jason- Yes there is. I want her to understand that when I told her to leave you alone I meant it.
Liz- It’s not necessary…
Jason- Yes it is. I want…I have to do this.
Liz- [softly]Ok…do you mind if we walk to Kelly’s though?
Jason- If that’s what you want…[Liz nods her head] come on let’s go.

They slowly walk to Kelly’s not speaking lost in their own thoughts. If only Carly had not burst through the door this awkward silence would not be between them. Jason could not allow Carly to destroy the happiness he had finally found. He glanced at Liz trying to judge her mood. He would do whatever he had to do to protect her. Liz would not be hurt by Carly.

What if Carly told everyone what she walked in on? On one hand it would bring more problems to her and Jason, but on the other hand maybe it wouldn’t be that bad. She would finally have to own up to what she was really feeling. She and Jason would no longer have to sneak around. Even before Carly burst through the door Liz had come to the decision that things between her and Lucky had to end. Staying with him was only bringing pain to him, her, and Jason. She quickly glanced at Jason and she could tell that what happened tonight was on his mind. She knew that in some way he blamed himself and that was the farthest thing from the truth. He would try and take on the burden of what happened and she had to let him know that they were in this together and that’s how she wanted it to stay. She quickly reached out and took Jason’s hand in hers. When he looked at her she softly smiled and squeezed his hand.

Liz- I’m not upset…you don’t have to worry.

He smiled and nodded his head as he tightened his grasp of her hand and pulled her close to him. Walking arm in arm the rest of the way to Kelly’s. There were so many things he wanted to tell her and soon he would find the words and the time to assure that she never leaves his side.

Jason- We’re here…
Liz- Jason don’t worry…
Jason- I’m not…[softly smiling] ok I won’t.
Liz- You asked me…but are you ok? I mean Carly…
Jason- I’m fine. As long as I am with you I am fine.
Liz- [smiling] Me too… [She slowly leans to kiss Jason softly on the lips. He hugs her tightly not wanting to let go.]
Jason- I need…I have to go.
Liz- You sure?
Jason- Yeah…I don’t want to but…
Liz- I know. [As he softly kissed her one last time and turned to leave she called his name] Jason…
Jason- [turning back towards Liz] Yes? Liz- Before Carly burst in you said you had to tell me something. It sounded really important… What was it?
Jason- Don’t worry about it…
Liz- You sure?
Jason- Yes…I’ll call you…I’ll talk to you later.
Liz- Ok…

She smiled at him and watched as he turned to leave. She stood outside of Kelly’s and watched as he disappeared around the corner wondering what he wanted to tell him. maybe he’ll tell her at another time but she knew that whatever it was it change everything between them. She turned to unlock Kelly’s…she definitely needed a long hot shower after tonight.
