True Love

My mind is haunted
All day long
By a "love" that I had
A love that was wrong
I was twisted by it
It should not have been
And it plagues my thoughts
Now once again
My heart had been hurt
Smashed and been bruised
My mind was not mine
It was twisted; abused
I was held captive
I'd lost all control
I thought I'd gained love
But just lost my soul
But I'll be alright
I'll make it through
'Cause I've found a "true" love
I've found someone new
And she has my heart
With her now there
She holds it gently
Holds it with care
She comforts me
And let's my heart heal
That's how I know
This love's for real
And now forever
Beside her I'll stand
My true love who holds
My heart in her hand
