Well, as luck would have it, the first three were boys, so, they got on the first part of this family novel...
But, my friend Jeanne stayed away from me and said that she would be back once I had the baby. Chicken ..cluck..! cluck..! :- )
Well, I was making a cake one evening and all of a sudden, I knew here we go again..But, this time I did make it to the hospital, even into the delivery room.
Our first little girl was born May 31st of 1963, she wasn't due until mid June. She was so beautiful, dark curly hair and big brown eyes, she weighed in at five pounds and fourteen ounces.
This baby is the one and only that is due in that magicial month of May. Do you think I will make it or not???
Well, I made it to May and I was really surpised, to say the least. I woke up early in the morning and got the old man out of bed, told him that it was time to head for the hospital...
So, off we went to the hospital, I was in the emergency room and told the nurse that she had better hurry with whatever it was that she had to do in order to get me ready. She just told me not worry that I had some time to wait...:-)
Yea, Right....I am the one doing this not her, so, she turned to leave the room, I yelled and she turned around just in time to grab the baby..I tried to tell her, didn't I?
This baby weighed in at five pounds, fourteen ounces, the same as Janet.
Well, we got another little girl, we named her Barbara Ann, she had dark hair and brown eyes like her sister. The date is May 14, 1964 not a full year since Janet was born. :-)
While I am here, I may as well let you know, this is now the fifth baby and I have never felt labor.
Yes, you heard me right, no labor pains. I must have been the luckiest woman in the world..I cry if I cut my finger or stub my toe.
I must have had an angel watching over me, what do you think? To top it all off, my mothers birthday was May 10th and I missed it all around..:-)
Tracie Lea was born on August 16th 1966, don't ask me how I made it past May..ha..It surprised me also.. Beleive it or not she weighed in at five pounds, fourteen ounces the same as both of her sisters.
She also has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Such a beautiful little girl.
She also was not born in the delivery room, seems like I just don't like that room doesn't it?
We did at least make it to the hospital, and into the labor room. My doctor wasn't there yet, and he knew that things always went very fast for me and had left instructions in my file to just leave me alone.
But, the intern that was there had his own ideas and decided to speed things up since he didn't think they were going fast enough.
I was in no hurry, because the doctor was going to induce me when he got there so that I would for the first time, feel labor. No such luck for me..
Like I really wanted to enjoy that pain..well, once would have been ok, I think..
Well, about twenty minutes after the dumb intern did his thing, I had another baby girl right there in the labor room. So, yet again, I have not felt labor.
I know, most of you women are ready to shoot me..I don't blame you, but, I really didn't have any control over it. :- )
At any rate, our family is now complete. Three boys and then three girls. I feel so blessed to have had such beautiful babies.
Counting the years anyone? One a year, every year 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964 then skipped 1965.
I wouldn't have though, I lost one by being pregnant in the tube. Rough time that was, :-( but, I made up for it by having the next one in 1966...ha..ha..:-)
For now, he can be with my mother and I know she is taking good care of him for me.
Thank you Mom....
Alright, take another break, you know the routine by now, (grin) :- ) Coffee, pop, chips, take a pottie break, whatever.. But, dont' forget to join us on the All Grown Up Page coming up next.
