  .....TOP PICTURE ...... RAVAGED by fire in the 1950's,the COURT

 HOUSE AND ITS CONTENTS,meant a vast history of OUR CITY was destroyed.
never again to appear.  Located on CHARLOTTE STREET between DORCHESTER 
STREET and ST.GEORGE's Cemetery, our COURT HOUSE has moved from WENTWORTH 
 PARK AREA, to being across the street from the one pictured ABOVE.

 A RARE SHOT of a once marvellous HOTEL...the SYDNEY HOTEL.Located
at the corner of DORCHESTER AND THE ESPLANADE...the meeting place
of SYDNEY SOCIETY for many years. At the left is the bandshell,located
where the DesBarres statue presently stands.The view is looking NORTH 
up the ESPLANADE towards VICTORIA PARK, where the GARRISON once stood.



               ..... INTERESTING SYDNEY FACTS.....

     Acknowledged as the first Sydney SETTLER, John Meloney arrived
in 1784.He was a Unitel Empire Loyalist and settled on land later
to be known as the JAMES MUGGAH farm.Other names to settle here were;
PETERS.LORWAY,TOWNSEND,BURCHELL, MOFFATT , MUSGRAVE and JOST.In 1784
CAPE BRETON BECAME A PROVINCE until 1820, with SYDNEY as its Capital.
