Ultimate speed trick Okay, this may get a little confusing, so bear with me. In the Oil Ocean zone (make sure you have the debug code and SuperSonic code in), find one of those green checkered orbs that will shoot you horizontally (side to side, not up and down.) When the orb shoots you, press "B" to activate debug mode, hold forward for a couple of seconds, now press "B" again to get out of debug (make sure you're not stuck in a wall). Sonic will be MUCH faster, and jump much higher (in fact, the screen can't keep up with Sonic.). SuperSonic, well, you'd go too fast, and jump exteremely high. Be very careful!!! Sick Sonic code: Yet another debug glitch, allows Sonic to be green-and-brown colored. At Emerald Hill zone, act 1 or 2, but not any other stage, (make sure debug is actived) press "B" to change into a sprite, and press "A" until you see nothing (the sprite just after the four vertical rings.) Now, at the begining of the stage, press "C" to place the invisible sprite on the screen (it is a waterfall), press "C" lots and lots and lots of times! All over the begining of the stage, just after the screen starts to slow down in movement (when there are too many objects on the screen at one, the Genesis puts up a hissy fit, and slows down on you.) Now press "B" inside where you placed all of those waterfalls. The screen will glitch....alot! In fact, the Genesis will be confused on what you did, and start showing odd colors. Run forward (you won't see youreself, but you are running) out of the slowdown (you'll know when you're out of the slowdown, the game will speed back up, duh.) Sonic is now green and has a brown head. Some black colors on the screen will turn light blue, the color of the background on this website.) The colors are pretty ugly. That's why Sonic appears to be sick! Two Tails Enter the level select and debug codes, then go to the Sky Chase level. Using debug mode, create a transfer box and break it open. When you hear Sonic die press B to enter debug mode again. Move the cursor up until you see Tails and exit debug mode. To finish, jump and you'll have two Tails. sonic 3 sega Debug mode Do the stage select trick and highlight any of the stage and hold A and press start. playing at night Do the stage select trick and hold C and start a game. stage select When sonic is going to spin towards you, press up,up,down, down,up,up,up,up and you will hear the chime sound. Shift the cursor down until you see the sound test. Go in, it allows you to select any stage except for some of them that are in sonic & knuckles. Debug, stage select, and sound test--ALL IN ONE! Just after the Sega Logo background darkens, and berfore Sonic is fully on the screen, QUICKLY tap U, U, D, D, U, U, U, U. It's one of those codes that'll blister your fingers. You must do it FAST and CORRECTLY. Good chance you won't get this code right the first time, I didn't. But I've seen some pretty lucky people. You will hear a chime to confirm the code. Press Up or Down twice to highlight sound test. Enter it, and you'll be treated to all the stages of the game. Hold "A" and the "start" buttons on the stage you choose until the game starts to activate debug (this will also work in the 1 player data select screen, even your saved files.) Debug is the same as Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. Ordinary Slow-mo: With the level select in place, you can now play in slow motion, press "start" and hold the "B" button using the "C" button to jump. The "A" button will reset the game. Easy emeralds this wasn't found out for a while. To gain all the chaos emeralds, enter the Level Select code, then highlight "Special Stage" and press C + Start. After receiving the emerald, press A + Start and repeat the process until you have them all. Alternatively, enter the Sound Test code and play sounds 02, 04, 05, 06 in order. If you did it correctly, the Emerald sound will play. sonic spinball sega stage select On tittle screen, press,A,DOWN,B,DOWN,C,DOWN,A,B,UP,A,C,UP,B,C,UP. Hold A and press start. Go to lava power house and hold B and press start. Hold C and again and press start. sercet bonus stage Collect all the rings in any stage and look for a big ring on that stage and go in. sonic 2 game gear stage select On the sega logo, hold down the down, 1, and 2 buttons. Wait until tails blink, on the third blink, press start when the eyes aare shut. Sonic And Knuckle (sega) In the Mushroom Hill zone, go to the first pull-down elevation thingy (I have no idea what it's called. It's near a Madmole, the enemy that throws mushrooms at you, and a Super Shoes Monitor. Grab onto the left handle and enter the code on the directional pad L, L, L, R, R, R, U, U, U. A chime will confirm the code. If you fail the first time, you need not reset the game, just keep entering it until you hear a chime. Now press "start," and then the "A" button to reset the game. At the title screen, hold "A" and press "start." You will see the stage select. The Sonic 3 levels are not available unless the Sonic 3 cart in locked on to Sonic and Knuckles. Secret bonus stage Also works for Sonic 3 alone. Highlight sound test, switch the sound to #1F. Now select special stage and Hold "A" and press start. You will be shown a hidden Special Stage. Rumors say that this is the Special Stage to get the Master Emerald. It's bulls--t people. Secret Game: Lock on any (well most) Genesis cart to the S&K cart. You will see a message along with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik in the background. The message is saying, "No Way! Now Way?" Ignore that. Press "A"+"B"+"C" at the same time to unlock a special stage. Now press start. (Tip, the Game Genie is a Genesis cart. Put the Game Genie on top of the S&K cart. It'll work! Trust me!). If you connect the Sonic 1 cart, the same thing will happen, but this time, all the characters are in full color. Press "A"+"B"+"C" at the same time again to unlock ALL special stages. But you have to enter codes to get these special stages. The "A" button will make those spinning star balls change red or blue. Red for Knux, Blue for Sonic. NO TAILS. (Damn!) Press down to activate the code field. Press left or right to highlight a character, up or down to change the character from 0 to 9. The Final Stage code is 4002 9900 9983. Press "start." You will hear a "di-ding" to tell you that the code works. Normally, you see a stage number. But this time you get a **. Okay, whatever. Sonic 2 lock: Stage Select and Debug At the title screen press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right. A chime will confirm the code. Now hold "A" and press "start." You'll see the level select. To get the debug, highlight sound test and enter these numbers in this order using the "C" button: 01, 09, 09, 04, 01, 00, 01, 08. *Note, the 00 won't have a sound, but it's part of the code. The debug is the same. However, you can only place two kinds of sprites, a ring, and a ring monitor. Gee, that sucks. Well, at least you have infinite rings. Sonic 3 Lock: Level Select and Debug. Level select, at Angel Isalnd, find a stationary swinging vine. Grab it and press L, L, L, R, R, R, U, U, U. A chime will confirm the code. Now press "start" and hit the "A" button. this will reset the game. Press up or down twice to highlight sound test. Enter that, and ALL levels are available from both carts (to tell you the truth, Sonic & Knuckles was a patch for Sonic 3, since the US version of Sonic 3 didn't have all the stages.) Use the "C" button to change the numbers in the upper-lefthand corner from 00-03. 00 is Sonic and Tails, 01 is Sonic alone, 02 is Tails alone, 03 is Knuckles. To get the Debug, Highlight Mushroom Hill in the sound test an enter it. Do the exact same code as above: In the Mushroom Hill zone, go to the first pull-down elevation thingy (I have no idea what it's called. Now when you start the game, hold "A" and "start" at the same time until the game starts and pauses. You won't know if you are in debug, because the Hex code that covered the Score meter is not there until you are in debug. This debug is strange. Press "A" to change the gravity pull (if there is no ceiling, sonic will fall upwards and die. Huh.), "B" to change into a sprite, and the "C" button is jump. When you are in debug, everything is the same: "A" to change the sprite, and "C" to place the sprite on the screen. Ordinary Slow-mo: With the level select in place, you can now play in slow motion, press "start" and hold the "B" button using the "C" button to jump. The "A" button will reset the game. Sonic Spinball (game gear) Sonic-Zilla Enter the Options Menu and play these sounds on the SFX Option: 0, 2, 1, 1, 6, and 6. The screen should shake if you entered the code correctly. Anti-Gravity Sonic Enter the Options Menu and play these sounds on the SFX Option: 0, 9, 0, 1, 6, and 8. The screen should shake if you entered the code correctly. The screen should shake if you entered the code correctly. Next, hold Buttons 1 and 2 and press Start. Fast Music Enter the Options Menu and play these sounds on the SFX Option: 0, 4, 2, 5, 5, 7. The screen should shake if you entered the code correctly. Cheats - Sonic Jam (Saturn) Sonic World Time Attack On Sonic Jam Title Screen, and highlight Sonic World. Hold A and press Start. With this trick, you have 1 minute to get all 100 rings in Sonic World. Get rid of the Pause Screen When the game is paused, press X, Y, and Z at the same time. This will make the Pause Screen go away, and you will have a clear view of the game. Movie Theater Trick When you are in the Movie Theather of Sonic World, highlight a movie, and hold Buttons X, Y, and Z, and press Button A or Button C to start playing the movies, one after another, automatically. Cheats to the Sonic Games included in Sonic Jam Note: All cheats on Sonic Jam for Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Sonic & Knuckles are all the same. They are also a lot easier to enter. *Notes on monitors The sprite monitors effects as follows: Sonic 1, a monitor will do nothing. Sonic 2, a monitor is a transport box. Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, or locked together, a monitor is an "S" sprite, this was created for the programmers who were too lazy to get all the emeralds. Sonic 3 alone, the monitor will give you 50 rings and transform you into SuperSonic or SuperTails (SuperTails will be garbled because the information necassary to make SuperTails is on th S&K cart). Sonic 3 Locked on to Sonic and Knuckles, the monitor will still give you 50 rings, but transform you into HyperSonic, or SuperTails, or HyperKnuckles. *Some random notes about being Super or Hyper SuperSonic has a bug in Sonic 3 that he can loose rings at the final boss. The spiked snowballs that are in Knux's part of the stage can also make SuperSonic lose his rings. Only being Hyper will protect you from Launch Base boss that smashes you into the ground. -SuperTails in Sonic 3 can only be accessed with an "S" or SuperMonitor. SuperTails is garbled because the information necassary to make SuperTails is on th S&K cart. Note that in Sonic 3 & Knunckles, SuperTails must have all 14 emeralds to any super power. The Chaos Emeralds alone won't do the trick. -You can still be killed when you are Super: you can either drown (except being Hyper), be crushed, or fall into a pit. The two Game Genie codes NTBT-CB50 + ACCT-CA2R, will allow Sonic to be immortal. -There is a awful bug in S3&K that when SuperTails is at the Lava Reef Zone 1's boss, if the Mechanical hand smashes on SuperTails, Tails will be killed. If NORMAL Tails is smashed, Tails will only lose his rings. This bug may have been fixed in Sonic JAM. -There are many bugs in being Super. Like I said before, SuperSonic/Tails/Knuckles can be killed at the Lava Reef Zone 1's boss, and loose their rings when they touch the spiked snowballs in Sonic 3 alone.
