There are three categories of attributes, they are: Physical, Social, and Mental. To spend on these three categories you have points divided up into three sections. You have 7 points to spend on one category, 5 on another, and 3 on your final. First you must select what category you want to be your primary category, or what you want your character to be strongest in. category descriptions may be found here. Once you've chosen what category you want to be the strongest, you'd divide up the points among the three subcategories. In every subcategory you automatically have one point filled in since everyone has some strength or some appearance (note: if you're using the White Wolf PDF sheet, there should already be one circle in each attribute filled in). Say you wanted your character's primary attribute to be physical. You would take the 7 points given to you and divide them up between the three attributes listed under the physical attribute. For example: You want strength to be your characters strongest physical attribute, so you might put 3 points into strength, giving him or her a rating of 4. Then you might want Stamina and Dexterity to be equal, so you would take your remaining 4 points and divide them equally between Stamina and Dexterity, giving you a rating of 3 in each. Now it's time to choose your secondary attribute, for which you have 5 points to spend. We'll say you want your character's secondary attribute to be Social. Perhaps he or she is very charismatic. You spend 3 points to give your character a Charisma rating of 4 (remember you get one point in each rating to begin with). Then you might decide that he has a good appearance, you might spend 2 points to give him an appearance of 3. You notice his Manipulation is left with 1, meaning he isn't very manipulative, you can raise this later with Freebie Points, at a cost however. This leaves Mental as your tertiary secondary attribute, giving you 3 points to spend on it's attributes. We'll say that this character is of average intelligence, perception and wits, and divide the 3 points evenly, giving him a rating of 2 in each of those attributes. Your attributes are now done.
