splash, splash! - hits a tail
whoosh! - spouts a blowhole

her silvery head
     pierces the surface
          points at my face

     my lips feel her touch

unheard sonar vibrates body cells
unseen electron waves accelerate affinity
radiant gamma rays transit nuclei

next she leaps a quicksilver arc
     flips over and over
          clicks clicks clicks
               and pretends she is only
                    a dolphin
