SUMMARY: The final issue of the series opens with Rogue yanking the knife out of her shoulder and continuing her fight with Bella Donna, much to Candra's amusement. They fight briefly before Rogue takes off to buy herself some time. After she leaves, Bella Donna faces Candra and confronts her, demanding to know what purpose the game serves. Candra reminds Bel that she can wipe out both Guilds in a heartbeat if she wanted to and warns her not to push her any further or she just might decide to. Bella Donna agrees to play Candra's game, and Candra informs her that the power draining is only temporary and Candra doesn't know who will get their powers back first.

As Rogue searches for a way to tie up her wound, she considers how this isn't exactly what she had in mind when she thought about being without her powers. Meanwhile, Candra wakes Remy up and they speak of what will be and what could have been, had Remy not betrayed Candra.

Bella Donna catches up to Rogue and insists on fighting more. She's bound and determined to kill Rogue and then go after Candra, but Rogue puts up a fight, as is expected. Bel refuses to give up and slices Rogue's glove open with her knife. When questioned, Bel admits that maybe she wanted to expose Rogue's skin, maybe she wants Rogue to use her powers and take the rest of Bel's memories. Rogue refuses and gets angry, punching Bel in the face and telling Bel not to blame her.

Meanwhile, Remy and Candra are still talking when suddenly Tante Mattie's emphatic powers kick in and she wakes up, telling Remy that Cody's heart is fading. Remy frees himself and tries to strangle Candra, who uses her telekinetic powers to stop him. They are interrupted by the arrival of Bella Donna and Rogue. Rogue has won the fight and is seriously angry over everything. She demands that Candra let Remy go, and Candra does so, instead using her powers to lift Cody from his confines and sends him flying through the wall and high into the sky above New Orleans. Rogue tries to go after him and realizes that her powers have not fully returned. She falls and barely manages to hold onto the side of the mansion. Rogue pulls herself up and Candra tells her that she could take her powers away permanently. All Rogue has to do is ask. Rogue has to choose between a possible life with Remy and saving Cody right now. Rogue chooses to fight and when her strength comes back she pushes against the telekinetic field and breaks free. Because Candra is weaker, her hold on Cody fades and he starts to fall. Rogue flies up and catches him, bringing him down to the ground gently.

Once on the ground, Rogue promises that nothing will ever happen to Cody again. They're joined by Tante Mattie, who tells Rogue that it's time for Cody to move on. When Rogue protests, and agrees when Tante Mattie suggests she use her powers to help Rogue get the closer she needs. With Tante Mattie's help, Rogue suddenly finds herself in the astral plane. Cody is there, the Cody she remembers from her childhood. Cody tells Rogue not to blame herself, and that she has no regrets over anything that happened. It's time for them both to move on.

The series ends with Rogue coming back to earth once Cody dies and kissing him one last time, thanking him for everything he has given her.

QUINN'S OPINION: A great finale to a great series. I like how even Bella Donna started to see through Candra's games and get fed up. I also liked how Rogue beats Bel in the fight not only by using physical force, but also by using mental cunning. I also liked how Rogue used her own powers against Candra when Candra wasn't expecting it. Candra is very full of herself, thinking nothing can stop her, but Rogue proved her wrong in front of Remy, Bella Donna and Tante Mattie. The scene on the astral plane between Rogue and Cody was a touching way to end the series. I really liked how Tante Mattie helped Rogue make her peace with herself and with Cody. All in all, I truly enjoyed the whole series and would recommend it to anyone who loves Rogue.
