HIRAM CAIN

Hiram Cain's father is said to have come from Ireland about 1800; Hiram was the youngest of eleven sons; b 1 Jul 1805 prob NY, d 1 Jul 1854 Atlanta, GA, md 6 May 1843 Nancy M. Williams, b 22 Apr 1829 d 27 Nov 1900, buried at Old Friendship Church, about three miles south of Danville, AL.  Hiram had a brother, Will Cain, who settled near Franklin, TN.  Family legend holds that Hiram was an engineer on the Atlanta and West Point Railroad, and he was killed in a train accident, leaving a wife and five small children.  Nancy Cain turned the care of two of the children, John F. and Seborn, over to the widow Kimberly.
