Hanson Concert on July 2nd, 1998 at Nissan Pavillian

The concert was definitely one of the best (or THE best) things I have ever seen or heard. I'll start from the beginning, so you can re-live me night of fun. (o:

To get to the concert (which was held in DC) we left at 4:30 pm. Anyway, since I'm not the most patient person, on the way we played Spot the Hanson Groupie, where we tried to find people who looked like they were going. That was fun, but I couldn't wait to get there. Then, at around 7:30, we reached Nissan Pavilian. After parking, hiking through the woods, and showing the man our tickets, we were in.

It took awhile to find our seats, and we wanted to get there as soon as possible, so we wouldn't miss a thing. First, we had to walk to the end of the stage. Then we had to walk to the other SIDE of the stage. After we got settled, it set in that we had AMAZING seats. And considering we got our tickets the day before the concert, it was pretty good!

One with the concert. At 8:00, Admiral Twin came out and started to play. They were OK, and if I was at a club or a disco, I would've been dancing my tail off. But I was impatient to see my favorite brothers in the world: Hanson.

After too many Admiral Twin songs, and after the crew prepared the stage, a curtain was dropped, and all of a sudden, I could see IKE!! I was so excited I screamed. The curtain was raised, and they started into "Gimmie Some Lovin'". Grrrrrreat! I loved the song, and I started to get into things. The next song they played was Thinking of You, which I'm not a big fan of (heard it too many times) but it sounds GREAT live.

If you're interested in what they were wearing, Zac was dressed in an army tee, Ike had on a white tee with a grayish black shirt over it (he later took that off and put on this cool green one), and Tay looked great, as always, in red pants, a black tee, and a white shirt over that (he took that off, too) I got great pics of them I think, I just hope they come out.

Hanson played every song off of MON except Lucy and Yearbook, which I really liked. One of the highlights was hearing With You In Your Dreams, which happens to be my fav song off of that album, and Tay sounded so good, i wish I had my tape recorder. Another interesting one was I Will Come to You, which I haven't heard many times live, but all the same sounded great. They also played some songs off of MMMBop/3CG like Stories, Sometimes, and River. Another highlight was Ike's solo on More Than Anything!!!!! Tay and Zac left the stage for this, and it was all Ike. I even discovered that when I'm not staring at Tay, Ike is pretty hot!

During one song (I forget which one) Tay came over to Zac and replaced him on the drums. Go, Tay! He's a pretty good drummer. While he was drumming, he had this incredible look of concentration on his face... And while Tay was drumming, Zac grabbed some super soakers and drenched the audience. I HEARD it was Mountain Dew, but he didn't squirt my section )o: Ike also dedicated several songs to us, including Madeline and A Minute Without You.

On the way home, we passed a guy who was directing traffic. He was a little hyper, and shouting "Oh yeah, you saw Hanson, OH YEAH!". Funny. When we stopped at a 7-11, several other fans were there, and the store owners were like, "Whoa!"

Well, that's my Hanson experience. I'm just glad that I got the chance to see my favorite band play live, it was great for me no matter what anyone says. I don't care about the reviews, how good our seats were to someone else, I enjoyed myself. I'd do it again in a FLASH, and if I ever had the chance to meet them up close and personal, I'd take it right away. We almost didn't get tickets, and I'm just glad I did, because I don't think I would've been alright with NOT going. I just wish it never ended (o:

The concert was really AWESOME!! My seat was in the 10th row from the stage. I was so close to Tay and his keyboards. They played all the songs from Middle of Nowhere except Lucy and Yearbook. They played Stories, Sometimes, and Soldier from 3 Car Garage. They also played Gimme Some Lovin as the opening song, Sumertime Blues, and an old 50's song by the Rascals. Tay played the drums for one song. Ike sang More than Anything (off of Boomerang) by himself while playing the keyboards. When Tay played the drums, Zac took a super soaker water gun and was shooting the audience with it. After the last song, we were so loud that they did an encore. I had the best time of my life!! ANd Admiral Twin, their opener band, was awesome too!! Admiral Twin played from 8-8:30, then the stage crew came out, and Hanson played from 9-10:30!!
