How does on line credit card processing work? When a customer types in their credit card number and requests a service from a merchant, the amount, credit card number, and other information pass through the secure MerchantOnline servers, and are sent to the processors. A confirmation or denial is then sent from the processor, back through MOL server, to the customer. There are two ways that a merchant can use the MerchantOnline's. These are locally and remotely. What type of security is used? We use Netscape Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Customer with Netscape or Microsoft Explorer and other browsers that support SSL can participate. All Merchant reports and manual entry screens require login and password to access. Do I have to place my site on MerchantOnline's server? No. It is optional. You can keep you server where it is. If you need a server check out NetStorage for rates and services. Do I need Icverify software and Verifone terminals? No. Can this service process many transactions at one time? We can process an unlimited number of credit card transactions. How do I get to be an authorized credit card merchant? MerchantOnline can help you. Simply fill out our online form, and you are on your way! How will I save money with this service? With MOL's on-line Credit Card Authorizations Service you won't need a Verifone terminal. That saves $35 a month if you lease it or $800 if you purchase one. You also won't need ICVerify software which saves $395 or more. You won't need to spend time authorizing credit card transactions manually. Remember, time saved is money earned. How can this service process a large number of transactions at on time? Send all your transactions to MerchantOnline especially batch transactions. We can process an unlimited number of credit card transactions.
