These are just very basic steps and again I am no expert.
Step 1
Decide where you are going to store your pages. This means on a server. You can choose from several online servers that allow different amounts of storage space. Check with your ISP (Internet Server Provider) as some allow so much free space with your account. My server allows 5MB of free space. You can always start with that and if you find you need more, then sign up with one of the online servers and link to them.
Step 2
Decide what you want to put on your web site. Design your outline on paper so that you can get a basic idea of what you want your page to look like. Then if you are going to use graphics, you need to find what you want and download them into one folder on your computer.
Step 3
Create and build your page or pages. You can use one of the web building programs for this or you can learn the old hard way of all HTML codes. If you have signed up for free web pages with an online server , be sure to check, as they sometimes offer free web building tools on their sites.
Step 4
You need to upload your pages to your sever. IE and Netscape are both upload capable but you might need an FTP program.
Step 5
Check all links. Proof all pages. Make sure everything works and looks like you wanted it too. Is it user friendly and easy to manuver around in.
Step 6
Last step, if all is working, is to submit your pages to several search engines. Be sure and post your new web address on all of your surname lists.
Now get after it and Good Luck. I have faith in all of you. When you get your web pages built and up, please send your address to me. I would love to come look around. Debbie
