missoula : history

MISSOULA began operations in December 1995 (as Insomniac Films - this name lasted about three
weeks!) when two young hipster film students Brad Lawson and Ben Keenan were munching down on
burgers at a local McDonalds and decided to form a production company that would produce the funkiest
low budget clips going around. Soon after this they stopped using the word 'funky'.

With Keenan's knowledge of young bands making the scene and Lawson's ever-expanding production
knowledge and contacts in the film world they set out on their journey to conquer the music video
galaxy.

In the following years MISSOULA slowly began to build itself into one of the leading producers of music
videos... working with budgets of all shapes and sizes. Then, the weather started getting rough!

In early 1998 Ben decided to leave the MISSOULA club house and venture out into the music world.
He setup Warm Cola Records and produced a fanzine or two under the same name.
