In 1997 I was given the name Morning Dove by my mother-in-law, and I am very honored to have it. I've been interested in American Indians since I was a child, and while my mother told me that I didn't have any indian blood in me, I tried to convince her otherwise, after all, I did have cousins who were Sioux, so that must have meant that I had just a little indian in me. I would raise up my pinky finger and declare "This much!"
Ok, so later I finally admitted that I was only related by marriage to my Sioux cousins. It still never diminished my fascination for Native Americans.
